I am not only a fan of Fireside, I am also so grateful for them! Last weekend, I had a birthday party that unfortunately I planned very poorly. Suddenly, I needed a space for around 20 people to hang out and enjoy each other's company. I called Fireside to see if—by some miraculous chance—they were able to accommodate a crowd of TWENTY with FIFTEEN MINUTES NOTICE. After a quick confirmation, the manager and hostess (thank you, Bree!) got back on the phone and said, "sure, we can do that." They rearranged some of their space to make room for us on the back patio.
It ended up being more than 25 people in the end. The staff were very gracious about allowing us to rearrange the tables and chairs to fit everyone. And then later during the night, they told me that they had rearranged some of their indoor space and could allow us some of the rest of the patio as well despite having a pretty full crowd in the rest of the restaurant.
Our server, Greg, was PHENOMENAL. I regret that I quite suddenly put him in the position of having to be the server for the an entire event, but he really rose to the moment. During the entire night, he was friendly, flexible, and communicative with me. With Greg at the helm and a lot of help from the staff, everything we ordered—multiple rounds of pizzas and appetizers, so so so many drinks—got to us without any issues at all. He was even kind enough to offer me a brownie for my birthday at the end of the night. He was lovely.
To be clear, please don't do what I did! Next year when my birthday comes around, I will make sure to call Fireside in advance to book the space. However, we ended up at Fireside after an unfortunate change of plans. I am so glad we did. Not only was their food excellent, but at all levels, their service staff was friendly, flexible, and incredibly hospitable in a situation where they could have so easily said "no, we can't accommodate this on such short notice." I will be sure to come back soon, and am so grateful for the fond memories of that night made entirely possible through the hard work of the...
Read moreI wish I could give this place zero stars! I have lived in the neighborhood 20 years and have been here several times in the past - all of them a disappointment. I was not excited about going back but it was a special occasion with family and friends so I figured just order something simple. First off - the men's room was filthy and smelled of old urine. I always think if they have that kind of filth in a customer area, what the heck is going on in places customers don't get to see? Employees could not possibly walk out of that bathroom with clean hands.
We had a large group (just over 20) so they put us in the north room with the blazing fireplace - which is nice. We were not the only people in the room but we had a reservation so there was plenty of warning that we were coming. However there was only one server in our room for us and the other tables. We arrived at 11:30, I ordered a burger and no one ordered anything complex. I walked out at 1:30 because I was now late for work and I never got my meal. It did arrive at 2:00, after I asked them to cancel it, and they charged my friends for it.
Another table in the room that was seated after us and was served before us complained about the service (the poor server was in over his head) and the management blamed us for having a large group and told the guy to talk to us. That table left, in anger, without paying their tab and the manager informed the server he would have to cover it. We all felt so bad we paid that tab.
Although I am not a fan of their food and the poor food quality but getting nothing for 2 hours and having to leave hungry - doesn't get much worse. Perhaps that there was no apology or compensation does make it worse.
I encourage everyone who has had an awful time at this bad excuse for a restaurant to give this place one star and bring the rating down to...
Read moreNever order delivery under any circumstances. Dining in is not the best ether, it’s slow service, but it’s good food so it’s not the end of the world. But every single time we have ordered delivery, the order has missed MAJOR items, sides, ingredients, etc. (one meal was missing 2 of the 3 ingredients, it literally just went in the garbage). Of course we let DoorDash know, but today we decided to give the restaurant a polite, courtesy call stating that we’ve had this issue every time and we can’t be the only ones. So we wanted to let them know that this is a reoccurring issue so they can maybe re-evaluate how they inspect the food and orders before stapling the bag for DoorDash drivers. Instead, we got met with a very rude response. The manager wouldn’t even speak to us, so he had the hostess relay the message to "take it up with DoorDash, nothing we can do" and that was MIND BOGGLING to us. We politely said we understand to report it to DoorDash (and have every time) but this is a restaurant problem, not a DoorDash problem. And they said they can't do anything to better their process and that was that. We love their food but this has been so frustrating time and time again and we called and were polite while they were the insanely rude ones! Absolutely baffling and crazy that they chose to be so disrespectful and flippant. Obviously delivery and take out orders are not managed well, but with a manager as rude as this one - it explains a lot with all the other mismanagement. It’s literally a customer service industry and even polite, dedicated customers are disrespected. It’s super...
