Hunan Egg Roll King — Restaurant in Lake View Township

I ordered from here for the first time. I am new to Chicago, live in Buena Park, and was looking for some Chinese delivery. Reviews for this place were good, so I thought I would give it a try. Let me first say that I think Chinese always suffers when delivered or carried out. Things tend to get soggy and that was definitely the case here.

That being said, the food was just bland. I ordered the orange chicken, which was missing the orange flavoring, and Mongolian beef, which was missing just about everything but the beef. The wontons were soft and the cheese filling was flavorless. The egg rolls were no better. Everything was bland.

I am giving two stars because the young lady who took ,y order was very friendly and ensured the accuracy of my order and the delivery time was exactly what she said it would be.

Cute and unassuming Chinese restaurant. Lady who greeted me was friendly and didn't seem phased by my obnoxious substitution ordering. Fried rice tasted actually fried instead of doused in soy sauce and they happily gave me every vegetable they had in the fried rice, too. Orange chicken was hot and spicy, with even extra sauce at the bottom to mix with the fried rice. Lunch special is worth it despite being a couple of bucks more than typical Chinese lunch specials, but it's Chinese food so like, it's not a whole lot of money.

Highly recommend, BEST EGGROLLS I'VE EVER HAD. Hot and crispy with a steamy inside and with the duck sauce and spicy mustard, not much can top that.

Not anywhere to go out of your way for but good neighborhood Chinese that I'd get at least once a month until recently. I'm pretty picky about my crab rangoon and theirs hits the mark. 3 stars because the last THREE times I've tried ordering they don't answer the phone. Only once has it been at a usually busy time. It's disheartening when I want the goons! On top of that, their online ordering is turned off on all platforms besides Ritual unless it's like noon.
