I have loved every food I have had here. I don't like guessing prices and trying to know what goes with what. So everything I seem to choose is by chance and hopefully I'll have enough money on me to pay for it. My sister and I venture in periodically but I would like to take colleagues without us having to ask other people in line what is a full meal. If I it weren't for that, the food alone would get 5+ stars from me.
*Update, I went again about 3 weeks ago. I'm still trying to figure out how the bill for a couple small soups and 3 moi mois came to $39?! Of course, the prices were not showing on the display board. So it's anyone's guess. In route to my destination I looked at the receipt breakdown and it had some rice type of meal. There was no rice a anything ordered. I actually took a picture of what was ordered. I really wanted to take it all back but my family didn't think I should drive all the way back. Also a guy came in with a group. He had to keep reminding the server about things that his group didn't get but had paid for. I just won't go there again. They NEVER seem to improve on service. That whole "guess the price" deal must have paid for the nice upgrade to the seating area. It...
Read moreI have been to Iyanze twice before, and the food and service was great. Today was not the case. My boyfriend and I drove almost an hour from the south suburbs to dine in. I love egusi and efo rio and I eat Nigerian food regularly. The jollof rice and turkey we ordered was great. My egusi tasted spoiled. My boyfriend’s efo tastes spoiled as well. After my boyfriend mentioned this to the lady 2x and nothing being done (she did ask if we wanted something else, but it was like their was no urgency to help us or fix our problem) I took the egusi up to the front and explained that it tasted spoiled. She informed me that she could give me something else but when I asked if there was any other egusi she just said it’s from the same pot so she couldn’t give it to me. I ended up getting pepper soup but I just don’t understand how they would keep the same pot of spoiled tasting soup to serve to other customers. If in a service business you should do whatever to make your customer’s experience satisfactory. Our plan was to dine in and order food to go but after that and just them seeming unwilling to help, we just mentioned the issue to them, exchanged the egusi and efo for pepper...
Read moreI would love to give this place five stars because the food is phenomenal, but I don’t always have a chance to go there in person so I order Uber eats and these people do not even care to pay attention to order notes. For example I ordered Eba with red stew added notes to put spinach inside of the stew they listened yesterday but today I ordered the same thing except I got jollof rice with red stew and I told them to add Spinach . They did not bother to add any and I like vegetables with my meal so I had to go to the store and buy spinach to add in here which is very annoying then they charge five dollars for meat and they don’t even give you a big portion. It’s barely any meat on it. Complete rip off but the food is amazing. You just have to deal with them not caring about order notes and it’s better to go here in person, but even then they have an attitude sometimes. Customer service is horrible on the phone as well so if you are able to deal with that, then it’s worth it. The food makes up for it but it’s very annoying and I wish they would fix this and get new staff that actually carries about...
