I loved the food and everyone there was really sweet! I read a lot of these reviews talking about how they don't like the atmosphere because it is unwelcoming because they didn't smile or whatever-- that's a very American expectation of food & retail places. Get over it lol. You're missing out on great food for no reason! It may feel a tad jarring if that's what you always expect but the people there were very kind and sweet! You could tell that they work hard for this place!
I came with a friend and this was my first time trying Nigerian cuisine and I'm so glad it was here! The menu had a few dishes so it helped with choosing a new food. The food took time to make but trust meee it is worth it! Good food takes time and I got to enjoy catching up with a friend. I could smell how good it was gonna be when they started cooking!
When the food arrived the woman asked me if I was going to eat with your hands or with utensils and told her hands and she pointed me to the sink.Washed my hands and was ready to dig in!
The first bite! OMG! I kid you not, me and my friend went quiet from eating 😂 and once I got full I said oh I'm done-- and still kept eating. It was just so so good!
When it was time to pay the bill we had a cute interaction with the boss I think. She saw the empty plates and asked if we enjoyed with a smirk on her face. And I just smiled and was like YES I'm so full.
Overall, It was a lot of DELICIOUS food and really affordable! It is definitely a fave! I can't wait to go back! What I can say is go there with time, it's not a fast paced restaurant, and enjoy yourself. (P.S. this is what I really respected about the place. It's not fast food. It is a labor of love). It truly is a home-cooked meal.
I definitely want to see this business grow! Theyre really sweet and kind. I hope you give this...
Read moreI could not submit this review without at least rating this restaurant with one star. Otherwise, it is a zero in my opinion. This restaurant should be closed down and I intend to send the inspectors there because, it is a den of filth and a disgrace to Nigeria. In this modern day and age! How dare you! I paid for almost $100 worth of food and none of what I ordered tasted like food. The jollof rice tasted like it was cooked and frozen 3 months prior to my order. Even fried plantain (dodo) for crying out loud was tasteless and did not taste like plantain at all - which means it was also frozen for months and just re-heated. The fried Shrimps - no need to even comment on that. I can say for a certain that they never changed their cooking oil once since that restaurant opened its doors.
I was supposed to impress my friends with Nigerian meal!
The worst part of everything was the filthiness of the restaurant - finger prints on glass doors and window; the cook, a lady sorry, I mean a woman, was in a dark area behind the bar and I guess that was the kitchen. Her clothing was an African wrapper tied around her chest and her hair net was still on her head. I had the impression she must live in the same building as the restaurant.
The guy who passed my food order to me, was very friendly and polite. Probably because, he felt sorry for me - knowing I have just paid for food that I will be throwing into the trash can. Everything went into the trash can.
Only a wicked person will operate a place like this and pretend to sell food to people whereas you are selling poison - tasteless poison even!
I am sending the food/health inspectors there!
People should avoid this...
Read moreHello so today I took a leap out on faith and tried Osas food after traveling all the way up north to my normal Nigerian cuisine (Nigerian Kitchen) which is closed on Tuesday so I saw Osas was only 2 mins away. I called my order in over the phone and it was being begged upon me walking in . First and foremost it smelled horrible inside , thank god i had on a mask . Secondly if looks could kill , I’ll be dead . She looked at me like I was someone who if she didn’t want the money would not service me as if I had did something wrong to her .I then noticed it was a fridge with bottled sodas in the lobby so I proceeded to grab one before I totaled out and she kinda sped up in front of me to prevent me from touching her fridge. I paid via credit card it’s an additional 2.00 up-charge for that . I went to sign receipts and upon completing my purchase and she kind of snatched it off the counter . I grabbed my bags said thank you and she never responded . I got to the car and opened my food and the joloff rice smelled burnt but wasn’t bad , plantines were good and the two proteins I got was fish and goat meat . There’s no doubt the goat meat was extremely old. I couldn’t even chew it . I know you are saying “Why didn’t you return it etc “ I always say this is the better way to get justice when businesses mistreat you rather then a refund in some instances . I hope this owner change the way she treats her customers...
