Patio Beef — Restaurant in Lake View Township

The last time I was there I left never to return and here's why: For starters, since I'd always been served lukewarm fries, I requested that the fries be served straight out of the fryer. The woman that took my order seemed annoyed and instead of simply saying she'd make sure the fries would be served hot and fresh, she started arguing that the fries were always served that way--never lukewarm--and that I was wrong. So much for their customer service. Once I was seated (with my Italian beef sandwich, which was all right, and french fries that were hot and crispy for a change), the place started filling up and the owner decided to wipe off the tables, which is a good thing, of course, since no one wants to sit down at dirty tables. The problem was that he used Windex, spraying it copiously on the tables and completely ruining my meal. Windex, and other cleaning substances like it, contains volatile organic compounds that can be downright dangerous to some people if inhaled, and spraying this in an indoor setting is a very bad idea. The vapors bothered me, so I just wolfed down my food and left. Why would anyone use Windex to clean tables anyway? Whatever the reason, I hope they read this and realize that there are excellent products out there that do the job and that can be used indoors without any harmful effects to people or the food...

There isnt a lot of locations in this area that sells Gyros and Italian Beef. I have been to this location twice and both times I was disappointed. The Gyro reminded me of a meatloaf with a sweet sauce over it instead of an actual Gyro with sauce. The starting price is ridiculous for how small the gyro is almost $9 where most are $6 or $7 with tax. Then on top of that if you order extra meat for your gyro they charge you $3.45 more on top of the $9. Now for that price which I recently complained about Charcoal Delight on Foster was ridculous. At least for the $12.41 I got some fries and Charcoal Delight and it tasted better. The Italain Beef was the same it didnt have any flavor and it wasnt that flavored and overpriced. A good Gyro with extra meat should not cost you not more than $10.50 and with a lot of meat. I will never go back here again and I will never recommend this location. But again there isnt a lot of beef and gyro locations and if your not willing to pay for the delivery naw I still...

Not a bad place to stop by for a quick bite. Today I ordered and Italian beef with sweet and hot peppers. Let’s start with the beef, overall I would score this beef average which isn’t a bad thing. The beef didn’t have too much flavor and the bread did fall apart on me a little bit but that’s kind of expected depending on where you go. The beef was packed nicely and the peppers had great flavor. Fries were pretty loaded which was nice as well. The grid aren’t necessarily salted which is a good thing because you have the option to salt to your liking.

( Side note ) Please don’t let my 3 stars discourage you from eating here. My score is based on my personal desire of taste in comparison to places like Al’s Beef, Mr. Beef, Johnnys Beef and Portillos.

If you are out and about and have a taste for Aguero or a quick Chicago style hotdog or a quick Italian beef I think this is a nice place to Stop...
