I just LOVE this place. I am a devout Christian and have been warned about witchy spaces⦠but that has never stopped me from engaging!! I think back fondly to being a teenager sleeping with my Tarot cards under my pillow (as suggested) and casting circles and burning very characteristics pagan incense which is always so herbal and floral.
This space and community is unique! A lot of alternative spirituality mother goddess types, lots of gender flexibility, and tons of warmth and friendliness. You will find a tarot reader by the door and different kinds of tarot decks on different tables. One time I went and there was a knitting group and another time I went and they were doing a succulent planting and pot painting gathering. Itās the kind of place where you know you can meet friends and everybody may know your name.
Their logo and name are so charming. Obviously a playful pun of my Lordās miracle. I have not tried the food yet although there are lots of natural ingredients with fun names. Their coffee is delicious; I have had a latte and a Cortado.
They have a community billboard for people to post missed connections and reach out to community. And they have a board labeled āthe covenā which is their staff. This is such a fun and welcoming place to hang out. I hid my Christian book so no one was would think I was...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreMany others have mentioned the scones, but I need to provide some (positive) feedback.
I come here a couple times a week and I get the same thing, a coffee and one of their famous scones. The scones flavor is always good. However, usually they're a little "cracker-y" with browned edges. I always assumed it was because they were using vegan shortening, and that it interfered with how fluffy they could be. It was a 4/5 scone with 5/5 coffee, and I was very happy with it.
However! Today, 8/17 Saturday @ 8:30am, I came in and got this! I had to take a picture. Look at that beautiful cross section! It was soft, fluffy, and delicious. It even had a little cavity inside. A true 5/5 scone. Flawless.
I asked the girl behind the register and she said that she took them out a little bit earlier than usual. I looked in the bakery window and, behold, all the scones were that fluffy and thick. Masterpieces.
I forgot to catch her name, but I recommend you learn how to replicate this immediately. The difference between a perfect, fluffy scone and a crunchy, hard one is a matter of just a couple minutes. Judging by the reviews, this scone is the signature item of your cafe. Master...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreThis is my go to cafe in the neighborhood. There is plenty of seating and the staff is so nice and I see them reference customers/regulars by name which is the cozy community vibe Iām always looking for!
Iām not a coffee connoisseur but from the first latte I had here I was like āwow! Thatās smooth!ā And have been coming here ever since š
This cafe also takes advantage of its space both aesthetically and as a neighborhood gem. The previous proprietors were nice but the space seriously lacked a definitive vibe which imo is essential to the modern day cafe - this shop doesnāt miss the mark. Every inch is decked out with witchy cozy magic. Additionally, they are constantly hosting and participating in neighborhood events! Needless to say, if they for some reason had to close, Edgewater would feel the loss deeply. So go support them š«µ
Oh and there is gorgeous latte art. Most cafes in the area donāt offer mugs to drink from which is another reason they...
