It's not just another Thai restaurant although, admittedly, we were just looking for some fried rice. So glad we didn't find it. We called and ordered take-out (the menu on the google page for the restaurant is accurate). We ordered the Boneless Hat Yai (fried chicken), Phat Kee Mao aka Drunken Noodles, and the Sriracha Spiced Fries.
Everything was excellent. The chicken was perfectly crisp on the outside and all around delicious with the right amount of spice. We weren't expecting fried chicken to be on the menu and glad we tried it. It actually went really well with the noodles. I thought the noodles were spicier than the chicken but I couldn't stop eating them until the plate was clean. They are the best Thai noodles that I've found in Chicago. I wasn't sure what to expect with the fries, but the blend of spice on them kept me reaching for more.
We've tried many of the restaurants on the various "best Thai Chicago" lists but they've always been pretty similar. I couldn't find anything that compared to the Thai food in NYC. Finally, Same Same...
Read moreAfter 2 not so good days in California and and a 4 hours flight back to chitown hubby and I were craving some Thai food but with a patio. Searching around I found on google this restaurant that for my surprise it wasn’t far from home and with a great reviews. At first, we seated in the front of the restaurant since it was full but then a very nice server asked us if we wanna go to the patio since a table got open. When we got to the back I was actually amazed at how nice it was there patio, it was cute and cozy. I ordered a minced chicken plate call Phat kaphrao and hubby ordered a curry call Khao Soi Gai. We also ordered the Hat Yai fried chicken as appetizer and my second favorite Thai beer Chang. I absolutely loved my plate the fried chicken, didn’t like much the Curry, it needed to be a bit spicy and more flavor, it felt a little bland but still not bad. This was our first but definitely not the last, I really, really, really liked the atmosphere, the food, and their staff, great place in...
Read moreI would NOT recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for authentic Thai food. Our server was not attentive and disappeared into thin air. The food took an hour to come out and it was extremely disappointing! I ordered the Nuea Naam Tok which was a steak dish with basil and I had to send it back as it was horribly inedible. The steak and basil was drenched with lime causing it to be overpoweringly sour and it was seasoned with an excessive amount of rice powder, salt and chunks of pepper causing the food to be extremely salty, and the steak to be crunchy like pebbles. My sister ordered the Phat Kee Mao and the noodles were burnt and the steak overcooked, if you want to come to Chicago and want to learn more about the history order that because it taste like the Chicago fire. The Panang curry taste like sweet water with undercooked eggplant and a sprinkle of curry powder and even that is giving it too much credit. Extremely disappointed with...
