I really wanted to be able to enjoy this place when it first opened because ice cream! And it’s practically right outside my door! But unfortunately after only my second visit I learned that the products and service at teddy’s are sub par and beyond that-the vibes are truly awful and unwelcoming. I’ve lived in this neighborhood for over a decade and have never felt the need to say anything negative about a business here but I’ve been steadily witnessing how very little this spot has added to my community since it’s opening and I’m saddened that’s been the case.

I have seen teddy himself and other staff members smoke cigarettes immediately outside the shop and then they toss the butts onto (their other piles of butts on) the neighboring yard and the sidewalk on Damen Ave. It’s disheartening to have to walk through their graveyard of cigarette butts in my beautiful neighborhood, especially when there is seemingly a smokers pole available?

Don’t even get me started on the police state that’s been created in the parking lot since this place showed up here. It’s really weird and predatory how eager they are to call a tow truck or his best buds the cops on other people-meanwhile teddy’s super ugly and super massive new truck can occupy whatever space he so chooses for as long as he chooses. It all puts such an awful taste in my mouth and tells me these people don’t live in the city and/or they just don’t care about this community because of how they selfishly behave within it.

And the other low star reviews speak for themselves-do they not?

Go to Margie’s if you want a reliable delicious sweet treat, no weird cop vibes and a low...

I gotta let you in on a secret - this hidden gem in Ravenswood: Teddy's Ice Cream. This isn't your run-of-the-mill ice cream shop, it's a veritable haven of thick, luscious shakes that'll have you wondering how you ever settled for less.

First thing that catches your eye is the huge inflatable Teddy bear lounging on the roof. Yeah, it's quirky, but it's also a sign you're in for a memorable experience.

Inside, the place is a splash of colors that hits just right. You walk in, and you're drawn to it. It's got a laid-back vibe that's immediately welcoming, and it’s clear they’ve put thought into the aesthetics.

Now let's talk about the main event - the strawberry shake. Ladies and gentlemen, this was one for the books. The sweetness was nailed to perfection - it satisfies the craving without being overwhelming. The taste? It's like they took the essence of fresh, ripe strawberries and distilled it into this shake.

The texture? That's where they hit it out of the park. It was creamy but with a frothy twist that made every sip a pure delight. It was like gulping down a cool, refreshing hint of summer, leaving you eager for the next one.

All in all, Teddy's Ice Cream is that standout spot you've been searching for. Great ambiance, epic shakes, and a giant teddy on the roof - what more could you ask for? You'll find me...

I was so excited to try out this place since it was so close to my home but didn't quite live up to my expectations. Firstly, to my vegans, this isn't the place. Their website says they have vegan options but the reality is they have one vegan flavor and I didn't even get to hear what that was because when I asked about vegan options the answer I got was a very stern "no". After mentioning that vegan ice cream was mentioned on their site, he said, "oh yea we have one but we're out". It felt very cold and unwelcoming. We still got ice cream for our boys because they were looking forward to it and they rushed us - literally "can you hurry and pick an option" - because 2 police officers came in that he knew and he wanted to serve them. They weren't in the store when we walked in. All in all, the boys enjoyed the ice cream but the service and hospitality were not what I was hoping for from your neighborhood ice...

Ice cream sundaes are pretty cute, specialty sundaes from the menu are massive they would be good to share. They top scoops with teddy grahams which I think is super cute. They have a good number of flavors but nothing really imaginative so I’m not crazy about that. The shop is small and they gotta do something about the layout imo. The whole ordering on the farthest side to the door and waiting your order at the door side is making the whole place look in shenanigans, it’s giving public transportation honestly. I was trying to walk in and there were a dozen people right in front of the door waiting, I thought that was the line to order and I was about to walk out, then I had to go “excuse me” about 8 times until I reached the register, not fun.

This place was a surprising knockout just like the women’s national soccer team 😬 Teddy’s recently opened and it could not be better timing. I have been telling anyone that would listen that Lincoln Square is phenomenal but the only thing it’s missing is a grade A real authentic ice cream place. Teddy’s fits that bill. They serve big portioned scoops that remind you of why you live in the Midwest, at a great price. The flavors are more abundant than your opportunities when you believe in yourself. They also are versatile enough not just to give you scoops of ice cream but also shakes, malts, soft serve mixed with your favorite candy, brownies and specialty Sundaes! I loved everything about this place and will be constantly heading back.
