Recently I had a very poor experience ordering online from these folks.
They did not want to honor their own store policies once the guitar had shipped and I had been billed.
After exhausting my patience and goodwill with the shops e-commerce manger’s obfuscating the simple issue and deflecting responsibility and simply refusing to cooperate with me, I was forced to involve both my bank and the MN State Attorney General's office.
The shop was only willing to honor their policy after they received a letter from the state attorney generals office and the bank had reversed charges.
What I found particularly galling was the insistence of the e-commerce manager that they were a mission driven organization- as if being a non-profit was supposed to excuse a glaring case of business fraud.
Even at that point, the shop tried to draw a contingency between removing a negative google review and processing the return. Here’s the revised review. And the gist is the same - shop elsewhere. Instead, shop somewhere where they love customers and music more than unethical and unprofessional business practices and jerking...
Read moreI went to the Old Town School of Folk Music to register for guitar lessons. Did I mention that the most I know about guitars is how to spell guitar? The staff at registration was very kind and knowledgeable. They read every instructor's bio to me and help me select the instructor I thought would be the best fit for me, at the best time for me. And the guys who work in the store were very friendly and helpful and answer all of my many questions. I ended up buying a digital guitar tuner and several picks. I love this place. Can't wait for classes to begin. I'll be happy if I can learn to play Happy Birthday and Heart of the Matter. I'm a simple person, with simple goals.
If you want music classes, I think you should check out the Old Town School of Folk Music. And if you need any equipment or musical supplies, I suggest the Old Town School of Folk Music Store. The guys there are great, and they are so happy to help out beginning musicians. And if you're never played an instrument before, that's exactly what you are - A beginning musician. Let they help you start your...
Read moreThis music store is located within the old town school of folk music. Actually the school has two locations that are directly across Lincoln Street from each other. This music store features both new and used string instruments and many unique Products and music relating to folk music. Over the years I have come to appreciate the employees who are not only product knowledgeable but are accomplished musicians in their own areas. I'm often inspired to try something new. The school is known for both classes and performances. There are letters and memorabilia lining the walls of the new building. And don't let the "Folk Music" name turn you off before you try it. My friends and I have found the performances highly entertaining and the classes perfect for my level of play. There's too much to put in this short description so go online, including YouTube, and check it out for yourself. I highly...
