Windy City Sweets — Restaurant in Lake View Township

Its valentines day, I was indecisive on what chocolate to get my mother and girlfriend So I asked to give me a second so that I may decide The older gentleman who looked to be the owner said take your time Which was nice but then I asked will these chocolate covered strawberries fit in the heart shaped box he told me no they will be smashed so I kindly asked do you know where I can buy a heart shaped box

He said if you can't afford it then go to jewel or walmart

I was nothing but kind to the people in this Establishment and for him to scoop so low as to say go buy your chocolate somewhere that more suits your price

was so offensive

As he said that to me other customers were laughing like it was funny but yet they dont understand the key to life is being happy and spending time with those who you love while you can for the remaining time you have on this earth

Long story short dont take your business to this store prices are too high and they dont have patience they want you just to buy and leave simple as that

Ps: I'd rather spend the extra $5 an go to edible...

In general the store is nice, but I wouldn't recommend the ice cream here.

I ordered ice cream on two different occasions. It was a hot day and this place was the closest. There are multiple reasons why you should avoid this ice cream: Low quality - although there are about 20 or so flavors, the different between them in terms of taste is small. In reality they all taste like sugar, without nuance. Also waffle cone I had broke mid way (which made a lot of mess). Not clean - this is a general comment about the store, but the ice cream area is where it's most obvious. Not worth the price - taking the comments above in addition to that that the scoops are small. Service - when I got my ice cream and explain it was too sweet for me I wasn't offer a replacement or my money back, what I was offered was to buy...

the ice cream was good but the man checking me out saw my deadname on my debit card and was loudly announcing it, saying that he liked it. when i told him i didn’t go by that name anymore and am in the process of changing it legally, he kept asking me why cause my legal name “was so nice, why would you do that”. i was kind of caught off guard because i saw that there were bottles of jelly beans filled with trans flag colors and this is a pretty liberal part of chicago, but i didn’t want to loudly announce that i’m trans in the middle of a store. i know he was trying to make conversation but i was just really uncomfortable the whole time. just. don’t ask people why they’re changing their names. i dont want to out myself in front of...
