ATTENTION LDUB! How does this pizza look? Last night I had the worst experience with Downtown Pizza and everyone needs to know how they "take care" of unhappy, unable to eat dinner now.. regular customers. I ordered a Sicilian pizza and instead I get this round "trying-to-be thick" crust pizza. I thought perhaps I got the wrong pizza so I called back before driver got far so he can turn back, only to be told that thier Sicilian is ROUND. Ok fine, I accepted this as this is thier spin on it. So I go to eat the pizza and if anyone has ever had Tostinos frozen pizza it was close to that taste. Frozen. Uncooked in middle, cheese not melted on top, hard outside crust pizza. It was like ARCADE PIZZA. Which I might add is 💯 opposite of anything I've ever had from them. Their pizza quality is always on point.. So I called back to inform I cannot eat dinner and the manager, heavy set guy grey hair everyone knows him, gets on the phone. I start by telling him how wonderful I think his pizza is so he really knows I'm a regular happy customer and that this pizza is not to thier standards and to please help me because my family is hungry and the pizza is not good. He said "HE IS NOT CHANGING ANYTHING AND FOR ME TO NOT COME BACK IF I DON'T LIKE IT"! IM BESIDE MYSELF. In the 25 years in the food business myself, have I never said that to my guest or been told that from a restaurant manager/owner. So I think they need to understand how to represent their place better and treat customers better. Please boycott this place. This is not the first time service has lacked but this is just unacceptable to receive an uncooked pizza and be told not to come back instead of "I'm sorry, how can I fix this for you?" That is the proper response to your patrons. Shame on you downtown pizza. I will also be going to the local news. I know everyone in Lake Worth and everyone knows I'm a kind, loving person..and for me to do this is very extreme, but so is going without...
Read moreI visited this restaurant last Friday. It was my first time in Lake Worth and my first time visiting this establishment. I walked in during lunch hour to grab a slice of pizza while my husband walked down the street to grab him something from another restaurant. It was our intention to grab something and head back to our hotel.
I went inside and asked about the different slices of pizzas on display. The server/waitress at the time stopped to tell me what the different slices were. I thanked her for her time and waited at the counter for someone to take my order.
While I was waiting for my order, my husband had returned and waited with me. When my food was done, he asked if I just wanted to sit outside the restaurant and eat it since it was a beautiful day.
No sooner than we sat down outside that the server/waitress came storming out of the door in an irate manner stating that "those were her tables and I should have just ordered dine-in from the beginning."
The fact that she felt comfortable enough to speak to me like I was a piece of trash was appalling considering I had done nothing but be kind to her.
She had absolutely no idea of who I was. Had I been dressed in my professional attire, maybe she would have treated me differently. I have no idea.
My guess is that she was thinking that I just wanted to avoid paying a tip. In my disgust, rather than addressing her nasty attitude, we got up and walked away.
The restaurant owner who served my husband allowed us to dine outside at his restaurant.
While I understand that the hospitality industry is stressful, it does not give anyone the right to treat anyone with such disrespect and should be held accountable.
Best wishes to anyone who visits this restaurant. As for me, it is never a place that I would recommend or...
Read moreHad the worst experience of my life here today. The owner is extremely rude and does not treat his customers well. He told me that he does not need customers like me that put parmesan cheese on their pizza... mind you on every table there are all the usual pizza herbs and spices that one would enjoy on their pizza! He made me feel so uncomfortable as he watched me put the Parmesan on my slice of pizza. This man was so rude speaking to me that everyone at the restaurant was dead quiet and just looking at us. I felt completely embarrassed and personally attacked as I was there with a friend and she did not get treated this poorly by him. I told him I understood because he wanted to continue to reprimand me for putting CHEESE on my pizza!!! I was in complete shock at how this business owner was speaking to a paying customer. As I asked for the bill and a box because I couldn’t even enjoy my lunch, he kept going on about it costing him $2.49 for the parmesan cheese which I even offered to pay just to get him to stop talking .. I repeated “sir I understand, I am not welcome here and I will never come back”. As I was walking out he STILL went on and said “go to publix and get a bottle of the cheese and you’ll see how much I pay”. I will never in my life spend another penny at this establishment due to this experience, which I have never heard. Why help a business grow for such a...
