I wish I could give 6 stars! I've been looking for a new stylist since my former salon moved. The hair experience, to me, is more than just the way I look when I leave. I want to be in a comfortable space with nice people who care about their clients. When I walked into Saltlight this morning Laura and Barry both greeted me like I was an old friend instead of a stranger. They immediately made me feel welcome. The salon itself gives a funky, artsy vibe. It's cool and clean and full of positive energy. Barry asked me some questions about my hair, my hair habits, preferences and style choices before he looked through some pictures I brought with me. I've gone to some of the most expensive salons in the Palm Beaches. I grew up in my grandmother's salon. There are some indicators of a quality hair cut and Barry had them all. He took his time, asked more questions and honestly listened to my answers. He gave me confidence in his skills throughout. I'm in desperate need of a color but didn't want to commit to that before the cut (booking my color now). Instead of root-shaming me and hard selling the service, Barry gently mentioned my color and opened the conversation to discuss it. We chatted comfortably the whole time. I didn't feel rushed out or like it was taking forever. And my hair... It's perfect! I'm growing my hair so it was very heavy with long chunks in all the wrong places. Now it's cute! It's a very, very good quality cut. It's trendy but classic. It looks light and healthy. Somehow Barry picked up on my styling choices too... He didn't make it too poofy or over done. This is exactly what I want in a haircut and blow-dry and I honestly expected to have to ask for a little more off here, a little less bounce there. It is perfect! I've never written a review this long and rarely review a good experience but I can't communicate enough how pleased I am with the atmosphere, welcoming friendliness and with my hair. I can't wait to go back to my new old pals and get my color! Thanks Barry...

When the hair stylist I had been going to for 12 years closed, I was in need of a new place to get my cut. Being that I am picky about where I go to get my hair styled, and refuse to go to any Supercuts, Sports Clips, or [Insert generic hair cut franchise here], I wanted to go somewhere that I would be able to go indefinitely -- and was close to my house. Fortunately, I found that place with Saltlight Salon.

I discovered Saltlight when I decided to search on Yelp for a good place that was close to my house, as opposed to my office. I made an appointment through Yelp, and found my first experience to be great. The location is a quaint, modest retail space across from Revelry and next to Common Grounds Coffeehouse on S J Street.

Laura, who's the owner as well as one of the hairstylists, was fantastic. Very kind and sweet, Laura styled my hair the way I requested. I've been returning every few weeks for a hair cut ever since.

I had a very disappointing experience at this salon. First, they didn’t disclose the price before starting the service, and the prices listed online were incorrect. I ended up paying $350 for a botched job. My hair, which is naturally dirty blonde, was over-bleached, leaving it extremely damaged with harsh orange and yellow lines. My hair is translucent in certain spots and has tons of broken off chunks in the back. The haircut was uneven and choppy, and they charged extra for the haircut because my hair was “longer,” which wasn’t communicated upfront. The stylist also complained about how long my appointment would take and how thick my hair was, making the experience even more uncomfortable. Despite all this, my hair is now the most unhealthy and dried out it’s ever been. I had to seek help from a professional to fix the damage—for a fraction of the cost. They did offer 30% off my next visit, but I have no intention of returning and risking further damage. I’m honestly shocked by all the positive reviews. I didn’t give 1 star because the business does have a welcoming atmosphere...
