We have been to Paradisio a few times when not busy and in fairness the food is very good. Unfortunately, our group had an experience tonight that was so negative that we will never return to this restaurant ever again. We had a 7:30 reservation and after waiting for 25 minutes we enquired as to what the delay was. We were informed by the hostess that they were setting our table and they would be seating us shortly. 10 minutes later we were told they were setting the table as we were told 10 minutes after that. Never once an offer for a cocktail or an appetizer at the bar - just continuing to not tell the truth. After 45 minutes we got seated and then proceed to wait for another 15 minutes with no bread or menus. At this point we asked to speak to the owner who came out of the kitchen to tell us that it was his busiest weekend of the year and told us that our expectations were unrealistic and basically that by talking to us another person's meal was going to be delayed at which point he basically turned around and walked away from us. I explained what transpired to the hostess and our group refused to stay for dinner after being treated like this. I explained that we were all year long residents and we would never return to the restaurant regardless of how good the food may be, because they kept telling us the food was worth the wait. We explained that dinning is more than just about the food and how we felt totally mistreated. She clamed she understood but felt compelled to tell me very sarcastically to enjoy my weekend as we were leaving. The attitude of the owner combined with the dishonesty and the rude behavior means that not only will we never return but we will encourage everyone we know to also avoid Paradisio; maybe then they will understand that customers have choices and should be treated with a little more respect...
Read moreWe recently moved to Lake Worth and wanted to have some Italian food. There are currently three Italian restaurants downtown so we weren't sure which one to choose. We decided to try Paradiso first because of the excellent reviews and I'm so glad we did. It was fantastic and they have raised the bar for the other restaurants! We were there early on a Wednesday evening, so it wasn't busy and there was ample parking (but they also have valet later in the evening). We would have loved to sit outside, but it was raining so we opted to dine inside. The ambiance is very romantic and there was a giant real Christmas tree in the middle of the room, which was beautiful. There wasn't any music playing, which felt a little bit odd, but a minor thing to complain about. For an appetizer, we had the Branzino Ceviche. It was a great size for two people and it tasted amazing. For my main dish, I had the Risotto, Capesanti, Limone e Asparagi. The scallops melted in my mouth and were delectable! They were not gritty at all, which can happen sometimes in lower quality Italian restaurants. The risotto was cooked perfectly! The flavors were so harmonious! For dessert, I had the Tiramisu. I personally like a little cream glaze drizzled over my Tiramisu to make it a little less dry and this one didn't have that, but it was still exquisite and full of moisture. The waitstaff were unbelievably attentive and filled our waters and cleared our plates consistently. They were also so polite! This restaurant IS a bit expensive for our price point for every week dining, but definitely worth it for anniversaries, birthdays, and special occasions. We will...
Read moreAs an Italian (born and raised in Rome) I have to say that this is a superb Italian restaurant. It is authentic and offers the kinds of dishes that Italians do not find easily elsewhere.
Angelo, the chef and owner, is a true Italian gentleman with years of experience.
I find it very unfortunate when people review this restaurant negatively without understanding its real value.
Yes, it is a higher priced restaurants, but that's the price that comes with most authentic Italian restaurants due to the specialty dishes and ingredients imported.
The reviewer John Simpson, who gave two stars, is probably better suited for the cheaper Italian-AMERICAN restaurants that are located in Boca-Delray (I live there). Maybe something like Olive Garden is better for his palate. I've seen Angelo many times and to call him nasty is a mischaracterization of the person that he is. Sweaty? Well, I guess John Simpson never stepped into an actual kitchen, but maybe if he steps into other "Italian" restaurants he'll see that chefs and cooks wearing their uniforms right next to the heat would cause sweat.
Please disregard any negative reviews with ignorant and idiotic statements such as the ones made by John Simpson, as well as anonymous Google Users as it could be a rival chef.
If you want a real Italian food experience with an amazing wine list and special Italian dishes that you won't find easily, then this is the...
