My friends and I were looking for a new spot to go for lunch, when I saw Irish-Australian on Google Maps, I was so excited to try this place. We went at 12, and were seated right away. My first impression was this place was fancier then the internet description led me to believe, and did not have a Pub feel, with our table cloths, throw pillows, long stem red roses, and clouded plastic drink ware. Our waiter came and took our drink order, and did not come back for another 15 minutes to take our food order. There were 3 other tables either with food, or having already ordered. Our waiter approached us with such a lazy and careless demeanor that I had to pause for a second to process what he just said. He couldn't even answer a simple question about whether or not something was made in-house. We waited for what seemed like forever for our food to arrive, but it could have seemed like forever given that we were already there for at least 30 minutes. The food wasn't bad, but it wasn't something that I would recommend either. There wasn't anything that I would call authentic Irish, Australian, or even Pub fare. Sure there was corned beef, shepherds pie, and bangers and mash (which may or may not come with in-house sausage). But it lacked that soul comforting season, and was lost in some deconstructed Americanization of the dish. What I was really excited for was the Australian inspired dishes, but all they had was New Zealand Lamb. Where were my burgers with beetroot and fried eggs? Most of the problem lay on my shoulders most likely. Before going to this location, I had already built up in my head what to expect. I was craving that burger with beat and fried egg, and wondering how they were going to pull that off. I was hoping for the odd ball side of baked beans, and sliced tomatoes that you get so much over in Australia. I would have loved home made chips, instead of the limp steak fries with off the shelf seasoning. In sum, service took a abnormally long time, the food tasted good, but lacked authenticity and soul, and the simple things failed...
Read moreMy wife and I stopped here on the early evening of June 20, 2025 while exploring "downtown" Lake Worth along its main drag (Lake Avenue). We'd had eaten a late lunch that afternoon and had also just eaten an appetizer at the sports bar directly across the street (Dave's Last Resort and Raw Bar), so we didn't try the food here at the Irish Brigade. We did look at the menu and it appeared to have some authentic British and Irish food offerings. I had a Smithwick's Irish Red Ale (on draft) and my wife had Mich Ultra. This place is very nice inside and also very clean (well kept and new looking). The bar central bar has about 15-20 seats, and on the east side of it is a quiet area dining room area that looks to hold about 30-40 people in tables and booths and it has a nice "Quiet Pub" decor. There are also about 4 or 5 tables outside along the sidewalk. In the front corner of the pub there's a small area for live music performers to set up their equipment, and back behind the bar is a large and long room that has lots of dart boards in it. It wasn't very crowded during the early evening hour that we visited here, but it looked like it might get that way on weekends, or during the busy snowbird season (Nov - Apr). There is a small free parking lot just behind and across K Street from this pub that holds about 20-30 cars, and it's open until 2 AM. We arrived at that parking lot about 4:30 pm, and it was nearly full, so you might have to find an on-street parking space if you get here after 5:00 pm and the free parking lot is...
Read moreWe had been here when this Irish Pub was named something else. It was lunch time and we chose an outdoor table which was right on the sidewalk. The table was bare, except for a clean ashtray and salt and pepper shakers. The table itself was marred with burns from cigarettes. A waitress wasted no time taking our order and bringing silverware and napkins. We ordered pints of Guinness and Shepard's Pie, which was one of the specials. The Guinness was perfect, draught pints, poured from nitrogen taps with clean lines. The Shepard's Pie arrived and we thought it might be a kid's portion. Each serving was very small. We were told the lunch specials were smaller but these were so very tiny. They tasted great though. As we are, people would pass by on the sidewalk. One person wearing clothing in need of laundering decided to sit on one of the planters along the street that was right next to our table. This guy made us uncomfortable. Then he lit up a cigarette and smoked it as the smoke wafted our way. He finished his smoke and walked away. A few minutes later, our waitress appeared with gloves and picked through that planter, removing old cigarette butts. We then finished our meals and paid our tab. Our food was too small in portion but tasted great, our waitress was polite and efficient, but the outdoor tables will not be where we sit if we ever return. The inside of the restaurant resembled pubs in Ireland and...
