I had never heard of this place until I saw it come across FB. My two friends and I went for Ladies Night. The food was pretty good and the drinks were alright. My low rating is for my experience with a server and the "manager." I noticed how accommodating the staff seemed to all other parties throughout the night, including the ladies at the bar that were much louder than we ever got - as we weren't. Ladies Night is advertised as 8PM - 11PM. We arrived probably after 9:30PM or so. We had the free drinks and we also ordered food. Our waitress was very nice and helpful. Around 10:45PM, she came over to tell us it was Last Call - and we ordered the last drinks. We then saw an interaction with the bartender, our waitress and a man who was later told to us to be the mgr. He seemed like he was upset and saying, somewhat loudly, "no, it's done, no it's over, no" over and over. She came back to let us know, her mgr said we could have no more drinks. I understand that Last Call is a thing, however, when advertising to the general public, especially people that had not been there before - the more accurate way should be: Free Drinks start at 8PM with last call at 10:45PM. My issue is not the policy, but that it was not advertised appropriately (as I work in marketing myself) and also how we, as the customers, were handled thereafter. I asked for clarification on this policy - and asked to speak to the manager. Instead a female server came out to address us as the manager didn't have time for us. This server was aggressive in tone and approach, almost as if she expected a "fight." I asked for clarification and she spoke to us as if we weren't aware of what a "last call" action is. She got frustrated and walked away. While the food and drinks were fine, the way the manager was speaking to his staff, the way he refused to come and talk to PAYING customers and the way in which the second server addressed us was below the standards I am willing to deal with as a customer and as a working professional. I will make sure to let anyone I know that this is not a great place if you're looking to be respected or heard. I was very unimpressed with that. However, kudos to our actual waitress who took the time to apologize and do what she could so we didn't leave...
Read moreIf you haven’t been to, Mario’s on Lake Ave, you’re missing a truly sophisticated and wonderful dining experience. With tables indoors or out, a full bar, freshly baked bread and welcoming staff, Mario’s helped start our 2023 beautifully. Our two couples sat at a table that straddled the indoors with the out - perfect. Each one of us had terrific meals. I started with a delightful Caesar salad - not too heavy, just right. My main course was classic - Shrimp Scampi. Hot, aromatic and just the right amounts of garlic, lemon and wine. Shrimps we’re plump and perfectly cooked. My wife had Snapper Francese. Light and delicious, it was hot and perfectly cooked. The sauce was out of this world Gluten free pasta with just olive oil for her was just what she needed. Our friends had the Minestrone soup to start - again hot and delicious (my wife can’t eat that so they offered to pack hers up for me - I had it for lunch the next day - delicious!). My Buddy had Fettuccine Alfredo and was thoroughly satisfied. His wife also had the snapper - again, perfectly prepared and her side of spaghetti with garlic, oil and Parmesan was mouth watering to look at. I glanced around at the other tables and saw dish after dish of gorgeous food and smiling faces. Our friends had glasses of red and white house wines they said were perfect. The servers were unimposing and handled our plates with care. The waiter was always available and toward the end of the meal we talked about his heritage and love for food. We’re not usually dessert people so we didn’t indulge but they all looked wonderful. The relaxing meal was perfect in every way and the prices were quite reasonable considering the expertise with which everything was managed. A wonderful meal not so heavy that we were uncomfortable but not skimpy at all. Each one of us was thoroughly satisfied. By the time we were done, it was busy enough on Lake Ave to have a stroll to enjoy the diversity that Lake Worth Beach offers. Don’t miss Mario’s for great food and a relaxing...
Read moreI wanted to write a great review of this restaurant because the food is fantastic. But the customer service reflects total lack of care for the customer. It seems as if they have enough business that they do not care if one person has a hard time and it’s not right. Especially if what is causing a hard time is simply TRYING to order dinner. I used to order delivery with my boyfriend almost twice a week. Delivery driver is excellent. He’s very nice and Food gets there quick. Over the past couple of months, the phone line has been absolutely impossible to get through. It rings and rings and eventually goes to voicemail. Giving the benefit of the doubt and assuming they are just busy, Ive tried to get through for over an hour JUST TO ORDER and have had to give up and order from somewhere else MULTIPLE times. Yesterday after trying to get through for over 45 minutes, my boyfriend decided to stop in to see if they were busy and if he could order in person for delivery. When he got inside, he called the number 3 or 4 times while inside and no phone was ringing. He asked the bartender what was going on and she said “the line must be busy and maybe they’re just really busy”. But inside there were only 3 tables full, it was dead. The line wasn’t busy because it rings about 6 times before voicemail. I don’t know if the phone is on mute or if they have the wrong number on their website or they just don’t care about carry out/delivery orders. I really didn’t want to find a new Italian restaurant but after yesterday I am going to have to. They are losing about $200/month from us easily. very sad :( it was good...
