Mulan Japanese Kitchen — Restaurant in Lake Worth

Update: Mulan Japanese Kitchen is my go-to sushi restaurant when I am craving for sushi. The food is great, the prices are right, and the customer service is fantastic.

The Yellowtail Poke Bowl is the one poke bowl I always order at Mulan Japanese Kitchen. If you're looking for something on-the-go, this is it. It's flavorful and filling. My only complaint is the sauces can be a bit too much sometimes, making the dish overwhelming.

The Tonkatsu Ramen was very delicious — I will definitely order it again. The broth and meat were flavorful, and the noodles were cooked to perfection. It reminded me of my time in Japan. If you ever get this dish, it's definitely worth requesting for extra meat and eggs.

The Sashimi Deluxe is definitely something you should try if you're a sashimi lover. Every time I visit Mulan Japanese Kitchen, they always provide fresh sashimi. It's the freshest I've had in the Dallas/Fort Worth area. Another plus is it comes with a California Roll, which was a bit less than decent but still great.

The King Kong Roll was definitely tasty and filling — it was something new.

Overall, I enjoyed my experience. I didn't particularly dine-in because I ordered online and picked up, but the interactions I had with the staff were always great. Their food is delicious and fresh, and I can't wait to visit again. Mulan Japanese Kitchen has a great selection of sushi. I came here because I read a review from a customer stating “this was the best ramen they have ever had”. Since I didn’t want to drive really fast to Dallas. I decided to stop in lake Worth.

I mean. It wasn’t bad.🤷‍♂️ I guess I’m just a weirdo purist .

The bad: Fully cooked eggs that weren’t marinated. Not soft boiled ramen eggs by any stretch. No attempt at hiding it either. I suppose I appreciate the honesty.

Peppercorns found in the tonkotsu broth (not strained).

The broth lacked definition and didn’t pop. It’s almost as if the cook was trying not to offend the customer with a strong pork flavor. Considering Lakeworth is mostly white and Mexican. I don’t blame them. Tonkotsu broth is difficult to get right every time, takes a lot of effort and time. It tasted like they were using miso to achieve the same color and texture.

The good:

Very clean environment.

Anime playing in the background.

Pork Belly (chasu) tasted much better than expected.

Everything else on the menu I ordered was pretty standard and good.

They had Ramune!

The staff was attentive and very kind.

The fish cake wasn’t what I expected but they delivered in extra when requested.

They over delivered on the extra chasu too.
