UPDATE As delicious as Popeyes was, I believe it made us sick. I felt very dehydrated a few hours after eating it, and my brother had a stomachache.
Popeyes Louisiana Kitchen was delicious! This is coming from someone who has tried multiple locations all around Louisiana and Texas. I will definitely say that I have tried from this location before, on a weekday and it was a miss, but eating it again today, on a weekend, it was perfect.
We ordered the Mixed Chicken (12 Pcs) that comes with two large signature sides (Cajun Fries & Mashed Potatoes) and six hot buttermilk biscuits.
The Mixed Chicken was great — it wasn't oily, and it didn't make me feel sick (like how I felt before when I ate Popeyes Chicken from this place). They even gave us an extra wing! When taking a bite, you can feel the crispiness of the skin and the juiciness of the chicken.
The Cajun Fries and the Buttermilk Biscuits were the same as ever — if there are any complaints, it would be that the Cajun Fries may have been a bit soggy due to its enclosure. The Buttermilk Biscuits were crispy and moist — I absolutely loved it.
If you love gravy in your Mashed Potatoes, this place had the best — it may be a hit or miss, though. Typically, Popeyes either provide the Mashed Potatoes and Gravy separately or they give you a bit less Gravy within your Mashed Potatoes. Well, our Mashed Potatoes and Gravy were together, and it was the PERFECT blend and proportion. It was definitely the highlight of the entire meal.
Whether I would come here again or not is still up in the air — this place truly is a hit or miss. Perhaps it's different now, but out of two of the times I've eaten here, it's a 50/50.
Visit: Drive-Thru Order: $8.99 2 Can Dine
I've eaten at a lot of Popeyes in both Louisiana and Texas, but this place is probably the worst. Would I return? Probably. It's the only Popeyes in Lake Worth, and I always get cravings. Do I regret coming to eat here? All the time I come here to order.
Drive-Thru: I've been here on multiple occasions, and every time I come, I go through the drive-thru to make it a bit faster. Guess what? I was wrong every time. The drive-thru always takes me about 30 minutes to get my order through and another 15 minutes to wait for my order to be completed. I wouldn't be complaining as much if there were a lot of cars in the drive-thru or customers in the restaurant, but there weren't: there were only 3 cars in front of me, and the restaurant didn't have any customers. I will note that when I pulled up to the window, the workers are giggling and talking more than they were working.
Price: The prices of Popeyes are always comparable to other places like Chicken Express. How to make it cheaper? Find offers/coupon codes online, and you'll save yourself some money.
Customer Service: Since I go through drive-thru, I don't have much to say about customer service. I will say that every time I pull up to place my order, I'm always placed on hold for a minimum of 5 minutes. Every, single, time.
Food: Whenever I crave for Popeyes, I always come here because it's the closest Popeyes to where I'm staying. I always end up regretting my decision to eat here because I'd feel sick immediately after or the day after.
Even though Popeyes tends to have a long wait for drive-thru and their food makes me sick at times, I still return to eat at this place because I miss the taste of their food when I...

(edit, Feb. 2021) DO NOT EAT HERE this location has been serving sour beans and rice; as in rice and beans that have gone bad. it has happened to me twice within the past month, and has even given me food poisoning. i have tried calling the location, but it seems they purposefully have listed a false number/changed it to avoid the massive amount of (justified) complaints. if you value your health at all do not eat here
I live 10 minutes away from this Popeyes and go here frequently. never in my entire life have i had service as bad as i have here. every single employee is either rude or severely undertrained. they have no idea how to talk to customers. they forget napkins, silverware, sauce, etc. the experience that finally caused me to leave this review was when i was dining in, and decided to order another order of tenders. i stood at the counter for over a minute while the workers (who are all children) and the manager talked and goofed right behind the counter. i finally had to say something to get them to notice me and the other customer who had come in behind me. when i did, they acted as if i was the rude one for interrupting them. they took my order, and i stepped next to the line to wait. i figured an order of tenders should be as easy as taking some from the visibly full tray in the kitchen and putting them in a box. but no. i watched as the cooks talked for another 3 minutes straight until they finally decided to place the chicken in my box and hand it to me, but only because they could see i was getting frustrated. usually i wouldn't let this bother me, but it is such a consistent issue. every employee acts like they just don't care. there have even been times where they completely forgot to ask for my money, and just handed me the food. to me this just shows a serious lack of involvement from the owners/managers. or how about the time i waited in the drivethru line for, not exaggerating, 30 MINUTES, before i even got to the speaker. when i finally did, they informed me the only chicken they had left was mild thighs and wings. i can understand being out of a certain product, but why in gods name did you not send someone outside to tell the multiple people who were waiting? any other fast food place would do this if they ran out of most of their food. tldr; this place is garbage. the employees are teenagers who are obviously in a bad mood because they work at a Popeyes, the service is beyond poor, and the food, which is the only reason i put up with this place, suffers as a result of poor management. this store needs a serious shift in attitude and...
Read moreSo my family wanted some Popeyes chicken today and I decided to go to this location in lake worth because it’s closer to my house. I wanted to get the 9 pc special advertised on the reader board but I was told they didn’t have that special anymore even when it was still advertised. They said they had the 11 pcs instead , ok I ordered the 11 pcs meal with 2 sides and 5 biscuits, i added a regular Cajun rice and 11 spicy tenders as well. My total was 38.94. I waited like 20 minutes because i requested the spicy tenders to be cooked fresh. I didn’t mind waiting. The problem was when my order was ready I asked the cashier for some dipping sauces, 5 blackened ranch and 2 regular ranch, my girlfriend likes blackened ranch and I wanted to get enough for the 5 people in my family. The manager Luis stopped her and told her I had to pay for the sauces. Are you kidding me?? I spent almost 40 dollars in your restaurant and you want to charge me 25 cents per 0.75 oz sauce? I had to pay $1.25 for my 5 blackened ranch sauces. I was a store manager at Popeyes for 5 years and we never charged for sauces, sauces are included in the price for any tender order. Also there are many customers who don’t take the sauces included in their meal so that would compensate for the extra sauces I asked. Then when I got home there were only 9 tender in the box, not 11. I checked the receipt and she charged me for 9 pc tenders after she had already told me they didn’t have that special anymore and on the 11 pcs of none in chicken I got 4 thighs, 3 legs , 3 wings and 1 breast. I know that 11 pcs come with at least 2 breast . There should be 3 legs , 3 wings , 3 thighs and 2 breast. Brenda or Maria the district manager need to work a little bit more training these managers. I really hope Luis is not the store manager because he doesn’t know anything about running a business. If you want to watch your food cost, you should save on things that really cost money like too many wrong orders to replace or your cook dropping too much chicken when it’s almost time to close. I would train you how to be a real manager Luis. That’s store is never gonna get any better because the managers there suck. Guillermo the owner should do us a favor and close it...
