I'm not from Texas so saying this as an outsider but I'm seriously beginning to wonder if y'all know anything about BBQ.... at least from the few places we've eaten so far.
We ordered this thru Doordash which I know doesn't always means it's going to come hot or fresh so I'm not really judging on that but I am judging on prices and portions.
We ordered a half pound of chicken and ham and a pound of baby-back ribs. We got 2 pieces of chicken - a breast and a leg... 6 slices of ham and 6 ribs - yes 6. None of which would have equaled the amount we were supposed to get... not even close. The ribs especially were a joke... 6 small ribs do NOT equal a pound. And why did we get a breast and leg of chicken rather than pulled chicken???? So you're charging for a half pound which included bones?
This place is an absolute ripoff.... especially the prices they charge for their ridiculous portions.
And then there was the taste. The chicken was okay, nothing overly special but it was okay. The ham honestly didn't taste smoked... at all. And the ribs were.... eh, okay, they were okay. I'm not writing home about them but they were edible. I've had much better in Kansas City.
We also ordered potato salad which my wife said was alright (I don't eat it) but not the best she'd ever had by far. I ordered the bbq beans and literally spit them out. They might have been the worst bland bbq beans I have had anywhere. I"ve had better out of a food truck in Kansas City. I'm not kidding you when I'm telling you they were gross. We threw them away.
Hey the banana pudding and coconut pie were good... and probably not made there. And the rolls were good also. So there's that.
Needless to say I will NEVER go here again... and would highly recommend that if you're in the area and looking for BBQ that you...
Read more(first time to this location) I very rarely give a review that is less then positive. The service to begin with, we were greeted with a big happy welcome.
Being this is our first time here we were scanning the menu and it evidently was at a slower pace then they are accustomed to. And there was no one behind us. So I felt comfortable taking my time.
I felt bad for the young man who was carving the meats, there was no air circulating where he was. And it was hotter then Hades. He was clearly agitated (understandable)
Moving down the line to the sides the server was so very happy and friendly and patient. We picked out our sides and moved on down.
The drinks and cashier were the next round of steps to complete before sitting at a table. The glasses were pre filled with ice and sitting on top of the soda dispenser. (Melting ice)
I only took one glass since I had brought a canned drink in with me. Not to mention the ice was melting in the glasses! So it diluted the tea.
The cashier was very friendly and helpful. But evidently had a slip off the finger and charged for two drinks. So when I noticed this on the bill (after sitting down) I just went and grabbed another glass, as opposed to fussing about the charge.
I sat down at the table and waited for my daughter to come join me, she was still at the register filling up the tea. A young lady came by and offered bread rolls, I accepted and asked for one for my daughter. To which I was told I will come back when she gets here. ??? No big deal.
I wish it had been a better experience, the two happy servers made it pleasant. I could see that most of the servers/employees were not comfortable, or in a good mood. Of course this may have just...
Read moreHaving heard a lot about Spring Creek Barbeque, I decided to try it out so I ordered some barbeque through DoorDash. Sad to say, the hype wasn't there.
I ordered the 3-Meat Combination, and it didn't meet my expectations, similar to a lot of hyped things and places.
The plate consisted of: (4-5) Sliced Brisket (2) St Louis Ribs Carolina Style Pulled Pork (2) Barbeque Pinto Beans (2) Rolls
Alone, the Sliced Brisket was fairly salty, but when dipped in BBQ, it was a good combination. The Sliced Brisket had the perfect ratio of fats to meats. It had just enough fat to make it moist yet a good amount of meat to make it filling.
The St Louis Ribs were probably the best meat out of the 3-Meat Combination. As soon as you take a bite out of the St Louis Ribs, the meat would literally fall off of it — the meat was tender. My only complaint about this is the number of ribs you receive. I wish it was seasoned a bit more, but it is fine as is.
The Carolina Style Pulled Pork was not that special, so I'll leave it at that.
The Barbeque Pinto Beans were delicious and plentiful. The BBQ wasn't overwhelming — rather, it was fairly light. The beans were cooked to perfection.
The rolls weren't overwhelmingly sweet or heavy — it was neither too dry nor too oily. It tasted fairly similar to any other rolls you would receive at a restaurant that serves barbeque.
Spring Creek Barbeque definitely didn't meet my expectations, but if you were to visit this particular location, I would definitely recommend their St Louis Ribs and Barbeque...
