Amonie Jo’s Coffee Shop is the kind of place that feels like your best friend’s kitchen — if your best friend made really good coffee and had a flair for sweet vibes. The decor has personality, the prices are gentle on your wallet ($1–10!), and the service? Just as warm as the brew.

I popped in for a quick stop and ended up staying longer than I planned — something about the charm of the place makes you want to linger. The coffee is solid, and the pastries have that homemade soul you don’t find in chain shops.

I would like to start out by saying that I am super happy to have an organic coffee shop in Lakeland, however we were disappointed. We waited over 30 mins for 2 coffees and 2 breakfast sandwiches, when we were the only ones in the shop. Coffee was good, however the food was not. The breakfast sandwich was the greasiest two pieces of sweet brioche toast I’ve ever seen. I was also expecting a bagel or croissant from looking at the reviews, I’m not sure why we got brioche. We asked for no peppers, and we got peppers. The side of fruit was two paper thin slices of oranges. This was the biggest expectations vs. Reality from the pictures...
