I've had the immense pleasure of knowing and learning from Deedre Daniel while always having fun since 2014! From the very first ASAE session that I attended on how to make my Linked In profile stand out in the crowd, her blend of sheer professionalism with a knack for comedy became evident. By the way - The LinkedIn session was a top-rated session for ASAE that year (not very easy to achieve!) Deedre’s ability to teach invaluable lessons to help you thrive in your own profession through lighthearted, comedy-forward sessions is a testament to her versatility and passion. After the LinkedIn session in 2014, if I saw that Deedre was a presenter or speaker at an ASAE session, I was sure to attend it! For the next 4-5 years, Deedre led an ASAE Industry Partner Alliance Panel called ‘Selling to Associations’ and continued to present literally ‘the most interesting’ sessions at the conferences I attended a session called ‘How to be the Most Interesting Person at the Cocktail Party’ or ‘Change Happens’. Imagine my excitement when I learned in 2019 that Deedre had founded ‘The Interesting Conversations Company’ and invented a card game called ‘The Very Interesting Game’. I ran right out and bought it on Amazon and hosted a game night with my personal friends! When 2020 shut everyone down and my company had a traditional holiday party that we simply had to cancel and we were heartbroken about not being able to get together, I began searching (as many of us did) for ways to connect at the end of that devastating year. It did not take me long to decide how we would virtually celebrate, when I realized that Deedre had adapted her card game to a virtual platform. Deedre personalized the entire game to our individual company and team members. That year, Deedre's uniquely curated online game show brought our team joy and added charm to our virtual Christmas gathering and was simply a breath of fresh air during such trying times. Most recently, a standout memory has to be the Non-Dues A Palooza event. The way Deedre personalized and branded card questions for each of the 20 sponsors showcased not just her dedication, but her personal touch that she infuses in all her projects. It might be easy for someone who doesn’t know Deedre to see her as a fresh face in this realm, but I've seen her evolution firsthand. She's been mastering her craft for over a decade, offering an array of experiences all unified by her commitment to fun, engagement, and genuine connection. “Confidence builder” is the phrase that comes to mind when I think about Deedre Daniel. Approaching new people and new situations in an energetic manner during trying times might sound impossible, but Deedre does it with humor and panache. I had the pleasure of attending one of Deedre’s webinars on being interesting and memorable for a leadership program I'm in, during which she proffered timely tools for channeling your best self with others. I was amazed not only by Deedre’s ability to use verbal inspiration to advise each webinar participant, but also by her ability to exemplify the big picture of professional life enthusiastically. I left the session with her with a better sense of what others experience when they communicate with me, as well as which listening skills to cultivate next. Above all, I was impressed with Deedre’s ability to convey her intended message AND accommodate incoming questions on the fly despite technical difficulties. And, of course, her incredible comedy!
