Hungry Howie's Pizza & Subs — Restaurant in Lakeland

I will never put my hard earned money into this business again! I tried calling several times to make an order and every time I called the line was busy. So I attempted to put in an online order. For a pep and mushroom pizza. It was a meal deal for a two topping and soda. When we arrived to the hungry Howies they called me and my husband and told us they were out of mushrooms. Okay fine, no big deal we’ll have onions on instead. So we finally get our pizza and drive home. Then we go to eat, and find out there is only onions on the pizza. (Now I’m really not one to complain, having worked in the food business for almost 10 years but you should get what you paid for) So I tried calling them again thinking maybe the phones wouldn’t be off the hook anymore, wrong... they were still ringing busy. For HOURS. So I waited til the next day to call and see if I could get a credit for my pizza, shouldn’t be that big of a deal right? No... the guy I spoke to was EXTREMELY rude, telling me I ordered my pizza wrong when I know what I ordered. And then proceeded to put another person on the phone to tell me I ordered my pizza with just mushrooms and because I didn’t speak to anyone when I placed my order there was nothing they could do. Umm... well if your employees would pick up the damn phone instead of having it off the hook I just might could of done that!!! Will never ever spend my money here again. These people need to learn how to treat their customers, and by all the negative reviews I see on here it’s been like this a while....

The only reason this place is even getting one star is because of two employees, Debbie and Amanda. The manager Mike is extremely unprofessional and to be honest he has NO business dealing with customers! It took almost THREE HOURS to receive my complete and correct delivery order which only consisted of one sub, one salad, and an order of brownies. My girlfriend called to inform them that they put mushrooms on the sub (it was ordered without mushrooms and was even on the receipt). He promised to have a new one on the way. Fast forward another hour, still no sub. Once my girlfriend called to find out where it was an agreement started(by him) and he hung up on her then refused to answer the phone until I called from a different number!! I was able to speak to a different manager, Amanda, and the whole time I'm on the phone with her I hear Mr.Mike telling and cussing in the background!!!!Not to mention I ultimately had to drive to the store to get my correct food!!!! Thank you to Amanda and Debbie for being so kind and understanding! I will be reporting this situation to the franchise owner and will not EVER order from this establishment again!!!! BTW....I got sick after eating the food and will have the food poisoning...

Rude and very unhelpful customer service. I placed an order at the wrong location, and called the store to cancel. Norma answered the phone and told me that the pizza was made already and she's sorry. I informed her that I will need the order canceled and she went radio silent. A few minutes later she came back to the phone and told me, ok your order is canceled have a good night. After being hung up on, I called the store back to speak with a manager for some sort of receipt or verification that the order has been canceled and some sort of proof I can use if the money is not put back into my account. After 20 mins on hold, the manager came to the phone and clearly had more pizzas to make because she could care less about my concerns. I was told "I have worked here for 20+ years and I have never had anyone call back and say they didn't receive their money". I asked for the name of the GM, and informed her I would be calling the GM Trish in the morning and following up on both my cancelation and the below par (even for Polk county) customer service. I recommend going to any Hungry Howies other than this one. Do better S. Florida...
