Heartbreaking. One of my favorite restaurants is nothing but a shadow of what it was.
Let’s begin with my first step into the store. No greeter anymore, to take us to a table? Oh well. There was a lady, possibly the manager at the pay counter who not only didn’t greet us, but literally pay no attention to us, she was having too much of a fun conversation with another customer. So I was the one who have to figure out that there were no cashiers anymore, and it was all a “pay yourself” terminal style. So we ordered. I was hoping that at least the food was unchamged, but no. No more serving at the table, no; you need to listen for your number now. While I waited, I saw a few things, the most annoying part was the “characters” in the kitchen, coming in and out. Some where better than others, but one of them has the dirtiest uniform I’ve ever seen at a Steak n Shake. Sad.
The store was clean, though. The tables not as much but they were not filthy either. The food finally got called in, and that was The saddest part. Presentation was “alright” but someone had the brilliant idea of brushing the buns with a LOT of butter. I actually had to pat my burger dry. Temperature? LUKEWARM. The onion rings were not crispy but at least hotter than the burger. And the burger itself was sad looking. At least my banana shake was alright but now they use those stupid paper straws that get soggy before you are done. My son actually threw his milkshake away because he said it was more whipped cream than anything.
So, I sadly declare my #1 franchise dead, at least at this location. It was sad and I’m still sad. From managers who won’t even greet you to employees with dirty uniforms (and not a mask or hairnet in sight) this is a place that I will stay clear off from now on. I recommend that you do the same. Totally not...
Read moreI miss the old SteaknShake. Now everything is kiosk, barley any socializing with the employees and customers. A girl name Britney was taking orders from drive thru and that seems to be the only customer service you can get... is from the drive thru.. I tried asking for help when ordering the Garlic single steak cheese burger, as the only options on the kiosk for the amount of garlic is “Extra” or “No”, no opinion for “Light”, and that’s why I think it’s important to have employees being there to help guest order their food, because people can’t get the full options they want. Anyways, after ordering my food, I went to the fountain machine to get a drink, as 2 older ladies were taking and the manager came around from the kitchen. The Manager (couldn’t see his name on tag) and asked the ladies how they were doing, the ladies said they were good but noticed that the floors were very sticky, and yes they were 100% sticky and my shoes were making those sticky noises 😂. The manager proceeded to tell the ladies that it must be something wrong with their shoes and was adamant that he got a new mop head and “somebody” just mopped 10 mins ago, and kept gaslighting the ladies saying the floors are not sticky and it was their shoes 🙄. When i walked passed the manager pointed at my Boyfriend and my shoes saying “theirs isn’t sticky”, when in fact they were.. I took photos of the floors and they were yellow and can see trails of marks and dirt and greese.. I’m sure they have not actually cleaned this place since the beginning of Covid. I’m sure with good scrubbing and deep cleaning it’s be such a nice place to eat at again. Not to mention if the manager wasn’t rude the atmosphere would’ve been okay. Just miss the old dine in version.. Steak N Shake just isn’t...
Read moreI will never go to a steak and shake again the only good thing about it was their milkshakes because they’re $2.34 but I got a tender meal and my grandpa got a burger with fries. During the order process there were no option to have the fries made without salt which my grandad needed because he can’t have a lot of sodium. Also at the end it asked for a tip for the “managers” and there wasn’t an option to not tip so I tipped 0.01. There were no cashiers or waiters you order at self check out and sit down at a table then wait for your number and name to be called so you can go get it. They call it over the whole restaurant with a microphone and they say “freshly made food” at the end every time. I’m not even sure that it’s fresh because when my meal came out the chicken tenders barely tasted like chicken and my grandads burger was dry and smothered in ketchup. I honestly think this place should go out of business because there’s no real point in saving it the food is mid and the restaurant felt cold. They have a drive thru so it’s basically like a fast food place with no waiters or anyone to help the experience feel more meaning full. I remember when I would come as a little kid and it used to be fun now it just feels like an empty restaurant, which it kinda was there was no one there. Just for 4 tenders 2 small fries 1 fountain drink and 1 milk shake it was 21.59 including my 0.01 tip that’s absolutely crazy and for the food to not even taste good to the point where you don’t finish it. At the end a “waiter” came and took our plates to throw away but really what was even the point of it if she’s just going to walk around and look at tables instead of taking our order at the cash register or bringing...
