Was given a gift card, we don't normally do corporate chains, but I'd been craving a steak, And have had satisfactory experiences at other locations, so figured why not? We got there maybe a half hour after the doors opened. We were greeted immediately by a hostess who was very pleasant and directed us to the bar. The bartender was not friendly, not at all. She sounded as though she was reading a script, and speaking so quickly that it was hard to catch what she was saying. No personality or the typically friendly style of a bartender. We we're handed the menus in about 2 minutes later she said to us do you know what you want? Picture somebody saying that to really fast while looking in the other direction. I thought, well this is unusual. We don't know the menu well so we needed another minute. She came back about fifteen minutes later. By then we had known our choices for awhile, but could not find her to get her attention. I ordered NY strip, med rare, and my husband the sirloin, cooked the same. No complaints about the kitchen! Both steaks were cooked perfectly, and although I did prefer mine I thought the flavor was excellent on both! Not much interaction with the bartender during the meal. At one point she did the requisite how is everything. And we responded in the affirmative. When it was clear we were slowing down she offered us a box. We managed to fit our leftovers into a small box and then she handed us the tab. We had already decided that we would have a drink as dessert. She didn't offer us that option so we had to let her know that we were not finished. She again didn't register any sort of personality. Honestly probably somebody that should be working at high volume place where she could just do the bare minimum of showing any interest. I have to say it was one of the stranger experiences I've ever had in a restaurant bar. Both of us having worked in the service industry, ee left shaking our heads. My only other complaint was the dated carpeting and the really beat up condition of the ladies room. All of the finished around the brass plate where you're supposed to push the door open was worn off. It looked more like a subway bathroom than a restaurant somebody needs to go in and do a deep clean especially of areas that you might not normally think of I saw handprints on the wall etc... pretty gross. So overall the pros were that the food was actually quite good. Very salty but I would expect that of a corporate kitchen. The margarita wasn't bad. My husband's beer was cold. And I guess that's what we really went there for. We did not expect to be entertained, only waited on in a...
Read moreI am writing to express my deep disappointment and frustration regarding an unacceptable experience my family and I had at LongHorn Steakhouse Lakeland location, involving manager Brittany and later, managing partner Marc Silver.
On what should have been a joyous and memorable evening celebrating my son’s high school graduation—a milestone we were excited to commemorate with a family dinner at Longhorns —our experience was tarnished by Brittany’s unprofessional and discriminatory behavior. Upon arriving, we were told by Brittany that no tables were available for us to dine in and that we could ONLY order takeout. She presented at 9:40 p.m. as if the restaurant was already closed and we could ONLY eat by ordering our food takeout. However, to our shock and dismay, she then proceeded to seat a family of five who arrived after us.
When I questioned her about this discrepancy, she responded not with an apology or explanation, but with argumentative and dismissive behavior! Rather than diffusing the situation with understanding or empathy, she escalated it with hostility. This level of customer service is completely unacceptable—especially from someone in a management role.
What made matters even worse was my follow-up call to the managing partner, Marc Silver. Rather than taking my complaint seriously, Mr. Silver defended Brittany’s actions and dismissively stated that he didn’t have to make her apologize. His stance not only condoned her poor conduct but also demonstrated a complete disregard for the customer experience and accountability.
It is both appalling and disheartening to be treated in such a disrespectful and unfair manner, particularly on a day that was meant to be a proud and celebratory moment for my family. We chose LongHorn because of its reputation, but after this experience, we left feeling humiliated, disrespected, and extremely disappointed.
No customer—let alone a family celebrating a milestone—should ever be treated this...
Read moreOut of the fish my wife ordered and it seems like they are in no hurry to serve us. Now I remember why I never wanted to come back from last time I ate here. Ooooboy. 05/28/2024 Well I did it again. I went to see if anything had changed. They sat us down as soon as we walked in because it was damn near empty. The server came and got us tea within a few minuates her name (Socorro) from what it looks like on the receipt. after that things went straight down hill. We ordered a mushroom and cheese starter and I asked for plastic fork and spoon. As my wife was almost done with her part I still did not have my fork or spoon and I said something to my wife and a extreamly rude lady I assume was the floor manager overheard me and with an attitude ask me if everything was ok. my fork and spoon finally came around but then I started timing her to come get our order and it took forever like she forgot us. Finally she came back and Took our order and it took another 15 minutes to get that and she did not get my order right so back to the kitchen with my broccoli to cook it soft not hard and about 10 minutes later out came my Microwaved broccoli. Now it was just like rubber. I also ordered the ribs plain because I am a diabetic and it tasted like rotting meat and lets not talk about how greasy it was. the wife got fish and it was Ok the salad was nothing but huge chunks of the hard leaf. My wife and I ate at outback last week and I was surprised on How the food was awesome I got the same thing there and The Broccoli meted in my mouth and the ribs was awesome. . Longhorn has let us down for the last Time. I work to damn hard for my money to give it to some restaurant that could give a dung about the food quality and customer care. Don't go here if you do remember...
