Baldys Tailgate Bar — Restaurant in Lakeville

It’s hard to rate the food because we left and took it to go so it’s definitely not as fresh. However no matter how good it was would change the experience we had. We came at 5:45 on a Saturday night and were excited that we got a table right away and were told our server would be over shortly. However that’s where the good experience ended.

After 30 minutes and numerous servers walking passed us without so much as looking at us I went to the hostess stand and asked if they could find a server to take our drinks order. After a few minutes the hostess came and took our order. Tenish minutes after I spoke with the hostess we had a server come and ask us if we had been helped and if she could get us drinks. So I’m guessing our original order never went in? But our son got his apple juice so maybe it did? Either way, she got us our drinks very quickly after I told her about the long wait for help. We also put in our food order at the same time as our drinks and asked for some cheese ball puffs as soon as possible since it had been nearly 45 minutes at this point and our kids were hungry and so we were honestly. It took nearly 10 more minutess to get some cheese ball puffs poured into a bowl and brought to us.

Then the wait for food began. We order a burger, and chili dog and one kids meal. It took another 30 minutes from the time we order to get our food. When our server told us our food would be out soon we asked for it to go. Our kids were hungry and our table was being bumped into by people constantly and it was just too frustrating to stay. We finally got our food an hour and 15 minutes after we got seated. I’m glad I had gone to the hostess stand because honestly who knows how long it would have been.

When I asked our server for the food to go she did bring out the bill so we could get settled up. I asked her if anything could get comped due to the long wait. She initially said she could take care of it and then said well she could some of it, she came back and had taken 10% off which I guess was something but it didn’t feel like much.

This was our first experience at Baldy’s Tailgate and we were excited to try it and do something fun. However sadly we won’t be back anytime soon. If it looks even remotely busy I would look else where. It looked pretty busy when we got there and honestly it was about 75% full when we left. Other tables around us looked like they were looking around for someone to help them too so I’m guessing our experience wasn’t unique this evening.

As for the food it was okay ish. The fries could be really good with some seasoning. My burger was decent but not cooked how I order. The cheese ball puffs were normal cheese puffs in the big container but they did pacify the hunger while we waiting.

Edited to add that my husband just told me he didn’t even get what he had order. What a disappointing experience. I wish we had just left before ordering anything and...

I went here, this new place, just about a month ago. It was a very good experience. Baldy was there, so I talked to him about his bar(he also owns Baldy's BBQ in Lakeville). It was "Wing Wednesday" so he told me about their BROASTED chicken wings. They were EXCELLENT. BIG, juicy, tender wings. The sauce & dry rub I choose were very tasty. I also had the pulled pork loaded Nachos. Another HOME RUN! The Pulled Pork was tender & juicy, with a smokey flavor(of course), expect no less from Baldy! Chips were fresh, crunchy, cheese sauce was real good, with fresh tomatoes & jalapeños too! Oh! Almost forgot the Fried Pickles! Very good also! Nice selection of tap & bottled beer. Friendly & attentive bartender. I forgot her name, sorry(short brunette). They also offer virtual gaming. 2 giant screens that interact with you. As well as video games to play. They have FREE "cornhole"/bean bag toss gaming. FREE giant size Connect Four & Jenga gaming. Some of the long tables are made out of the old bowling alleys wood lanes. Which I thought was pretty cool also. Baldy's Tailgate Bar is spacious with a great atmosphere. With great food, beverages & service. I DEFINITELY RECOMMEND going there! My family & I went to Baldy's Tailgate Bar recently and had a horrid experience. We love to try local Lakeville restaurants and were super excited to see another Baldy establishment. When we got there the staff was busy & a bit rude and a very drunk customer was at the bar screaming while spilling beer. We didnt know if we had to seat ourselves or wait. Once we sat down we ordered wings and chicken nachos. Per the pictures, the wings were never quality controlled and half cooked while the chicken in the nachos was literally part raw. All of us that ate there, got very sick for several days. We wanted to raise awareness during our meal but noticed what I believe was Baldy yelling at his staff and one of the cooks that came to the door looked half drunk. Once we saw that, we knew any feedback would be disregarded. We are never going back and highly recommend a visit from a health inspector as no one should be served the food that is being cooked there. Very disappointed as we have had no issues with Baldy's...
