Visited on a Saturday afternoon around 4:30 p.m. We were told it would be up to an hour and a half wait so we put our name on the list and drove over to a brewery a half a mile away. We hadn't even sat down for a beer yet and we got the text that the table was open so not a great start on the logistics of getting a table.
Our server, Derek, was very friendly and attentive but clearly overworked and did not have the time to give you a true speakeasy experience. We started with an old fashioned and an espresso martini which both were nice. We also ordered an appetizer of the dip and chips which were relatively flavorless and the bread was quite off. It sufficed as a good snack for $10.
As far as the atmosphere, it was not a speakeasy vibe at all. The music was way too loud and required people in large groups to basically yell at each other over the music. The lighting was also way too high.
The best part of the experience was walking through the gas station and the soda can wall but you can just do that and then go somewhere else for a far better eating and drinking experience. This is definitely out in the suburbs and rated...
Read moreWe ordered the charcuterie board (meat portion was a little skimpy for $20, but overall delicious with 3 different cheeses) brisket burger (came room temperature with cold fries, but Iâll admit the flavors were so good with the tomato jam and brisket with bacon that I demolished it before I could complain or ask to reheat) Detroit style pizza (piping hot and pillowy perfection)
Drinks were incredible, I will definitely be coming back for the misty mountain hop! Host and Waitstaff were really friendly and welcoming. It was definitely extremely busy and we had to wait for about 45 min before being seated but the wait went by fast checking out the surprisingly extremely functional gas station.
It does seem like timing isnât quite synced for the whole experience, we waited at least 10/15 minutes to be asked for drinks or introduced to our server. and for over $100 Iâd expect my entree to be the right temperature, but I canât really complain since I ate the entire burger within minutes.
I definitely am coming back for more and recommending to friends, and hoping I can come back edit for the...
Read moreThe Farmers Cellar is a nice little hidden gem, in Lakeville, to say the least!
It is a nice speak easy with plenty of seating (tables and booths). Does give a nice speak easy feel with the lighting ambiance and decor.
My experience will only get better (5 star next time) when they work out some kinks such as having enough servers/bartenders on a Monday night. The music was simply too loud and didnât give the speak easy vibe that one might expect. I sat in a booth and literally had to yell at my friends for conversation. When ask how every thing was I did mention the volume of music being extremely loud they did turn it down. Was it enough - no but I appreciated the effort greatly!
Ordered the following: BLT Sliders - good but you need to eat straight away as the pork became too chewy when it cooled, Pork Belly - very good, beet and Burrata salad - very good and the charcuterie board bountiful! All plates were share amongst four women.
Because it is a speak easy the drinks were outstanding and well worth the money!
Overall, I look forward to being a frequent flyer...
