Chaskas Peruvian Cuisine — Restaurant in Lakewood

Very tasty - traditional style - Peruvian cuisine. Inviting, comfortable, casual environment for all - inviting for families with children, couples, or, singles. I went there this afternoon, April 11, 2025, with my elderly parents and brother. The food was very good. The food seasoning and the way it's prepared is authentic Peruvian. The woman who is the cook is fabulous and very nice. She, personally, came to our table to check on us after our meals had been served, to make sure that we were each satisfied with our choices that she individually prepared for us. The young man who was our waiter was very helpful, welcoming and attentive to our desires as we ordered. It was so refreshing to enjoy an experience of dining with my family where we were able to have served very tasty traditional Peruvian food, within a casual environment, enjoying the comfortable Peruvian decor surrounding us. We each had such a lovely time here. We did not partake, this time, in their wonderful South American coffee, but, we will return for it very soon! I do recommend this restaurant. Yummy Peruvian authentic local food. You can tell the lady cooking the food enjoys cooking and does it with love. The empanadas had a flaky crust, and nicely filled. Ceviche had a great tangy taste and right in point with the flavors.

I would like to be honest and say the eating in experience could be improved. There is no menu to refer to. Very hard to hear the person at the register. Have to pay upfront. The music was so loud, perhaps that was the reason it was difficult to hear anything. The least favorable experience was how cold it was inside. The door was open the whole time and we were frozen.

Disappointed!! I ordered a Ceviche hoping for a decent version of the most desirable peruvian dish but what I got instead it was a very tasteless dish, the fish was not fresh or well seasoned.
