Wow, just WOW. We stopped by here at about 5:30 on a Wednesday, and didn't make it 7 feet in the front door before we were warmly greeted by a young associate, he offered help with finding anything, but it was just our intent to wander and explore.

We did just that and were pleasantly surprised by the wide selection of hardware stuff they have packed into this place. From nuts and bolts, plumbing, electrical, to giant FIRE LANE stencils they've got everything. Scott (I think it was Scott) in paint gave us a full tour of the paint department, the little lumberyard in the back and pointed us in the direction of the garden center.

We explored some more. I found a REAL GAS CAN that I HAD to have. Steel, with a valve that can be operated without spilling GALLONS of gas all over the place like those stupid EPA-approved Store/Pour ones. A man's gas can. It was a little pricey, (at $45) but I cannot tell you how much I have lamented the demise of the decent gas can, though I bet my wife can.

We also found and bought a little keychain-sized 3' tape measure to keep around for quick sizing up of the sitch.

The staff here was super-friendly and super helpful. The selection was great for a non-Lowes/HomeDepot hardware store. And the amount and variety of paint they had in the place blew our minds.

I love this store. They usually have what I'm looking for and staff is very knowledgeable and helpful. I went in this time looking for a replacement for a toe touch bathtub plug. I suspect the one that had failed (and I had finally been able to remove) was over 40 years old (original with the house). I figured I would have to make a retro-fit work. I went to Lakewood Hardware because I knew there would be someone to advise me. A sales associate led me to a section with many choices. My exact plug was there. The associate opened several packages to make sure I was getting the best match. She consulted with another associate to double check the choice we made. The plug fits perfectly and works. Wow ! This place is the definition of going above and beyond! From the second we got there they were helpful and kind. We asked where the carts were and the employee ran and grab us each one without a thought . i was talking to my mother about not seeing "typical" strawberries and another employee came out of store to hunt them down then when i was mistaken about the type he looked them up and gave me all the information with out a hint of "i told you so" BUT WAIT THERES MORE he then carries my plants in then boxed them up and even though we were parked close to the door the first employee we encounted carries them out to the car ans stacked them neatly and safely.
