Eugene Kitchen — Restaurant in Lakewood

The folks at Euegene know how to pack tons of flavor into a single dish. I can safely say they have the BEST chicken tenders in Cleveland. The tenders are accompanied by your choice of several delicious sauces. I’m honestly obsessed.

Their menu has rotated a bit, but everything I have tried has been fantastic. As a regular at the Bottlehouse, I’ve tried most (if not all) of the menu at Eugene. I personally recommend the cucumber salad, potato salad, chicken tenders, crispy chicken sandwich, and Italian sandwich (my favorite). The Tinman Burger is also quite delicious, but I like to sub the special sauce for the spicy aioli. I do wish that it had LTO on it so that it felt a smidge healthier. Honestly, I’d love to see one healthy option available on the menu; maybe a salad or a grilled chicken sandwich. However, everything on the menu currently is absolutely delicious.

I would be remiss if I didn’t call out the Eugene crew. You couldn’t meet a friendlier group of folks running the kitchen. I try my best to support local, but sometimes it’s okay to speak up because this business has some shady practices that more people should be aware of. My husband worked here for almost a year. Initially, he was offered $18/hr plus tips at his interview- turns out that was a lie. The first few months he would ask for proof of pay with paystubs they always had an excuse and never gave him one. Through the help of others we found out that he had only been making $14/hr as a line cook the entire time. They fire atleast 1 person every month for any given inconvenience. My husband being one of them recently- they fired him because he was “too quiet”, but he was the only cook working by himself most of the time. At that they fired him after telling him that they were keeping him for 2 days instead of the initial 4 and downgrading him to a dishwasher. There’s sooo much more. We have a family and they knew that the least they could’ve done is give a 2 week notice or a severance check like they gave another guy that they fired for the same reason.

Just don’t support this business and definitely DONT WORK HERE. Loyalty and hard work is not appreciated. Only committing all your life hours is...

Our rehearsal dinner at Eugene’s was absolutely wonderful! The food was hands-down the best we’ve ever had at a rehearsal dinner—every dish was delicious and thoughtfully prepared. One of the highlights was meeting the chef at Eugene’s, who worked with us to create a custom menu that perfectly suited our tastes and needs. They even made fantastic suggestions to accommodate our gluten- and dairy-free guests, which everyone appreciated. Being able to tailor the menu to our vision was such a special touch that made the evening feel uniquely ours. The venue itself was beautiful and welcoming, with plenty of space for our group to relax and celebrate. The team at Eugene’s was also flexible and worked with us on the drink minimum, which made the experience even more enjoyable. The beer and drink selection was excellent, with something for everyone, and everything was reasonably priced.
