Roasted Lakewood — Restaurant in Lakewood

I’ll start off by saying I love roasted, I come here often. I even left a nice review a few months back because I always have good experiences there. The workers are usually very friendly but I didn’t have a great experience today.

A girl who was taking my order, not sure if she’s new, wasn’t friendly at all. I asked if the onion danish had meat bc I’m vegetarian and she said “I wanna say no but I don’t know” which is fine - but she didn’t even bother to ask any of the other workers there if they knew or to even look. Ok.. whatever. When she handed it to me, it was freezing. They usually ask if the customer wants it warmed up but she didn’t even bother to ask. When I asked her to, she didn’t say a word, and looked quite bothered per my request and grabbed it from me without saying anything.

I know this isn’t the typical experience as everyone else is usually so kind which is why I enjoy going to roasted in the first place, but that was a disappointing experience I had this morning, it honestly made me a bit...

Good Parking (street and small lot) Friendly Staff Beautiful Decor Moderately priced: a medium hazelnut iced latté and a vanilla scone ran me $8.75. The Latté was absolutely delicious! The (vegan) scone was really good. They have lots of vegan options, as well as lots of indoor and outdoor seating. I believe they are dog-friendly! 🐾

Review: I will be back. The iced latté was great! Next time I would like to stay a bit longer (lots of people were relaxing while working online in the back room... I love that vibe!). I would also like to try their hot coffee, since I am not the biggest fan of cold or specialty drinks. I probably would not try their food options again. The scone was not bad, but I am all about the coffee, and their food options can really drive up the bill. Coffee is pretty cheap. All in all, a great little coffee shop!

Stopped in for the first time today for a little afternoon pick me up. I was already mentally prepared for the stress of going into a coffee shop where the baristas are mad at you for existing (it’s not their fault we live in a capitalist hellscape that demands service workers be positive and cheerful all the time, but I’m a people pleaser and I don’t want them to hate me), but it turns out my guard was up for nothing! It was a chill afternoon, and while I was taking in all of the seasonal specials, the barista talked me through what was popular and helped me make my decision. Truly a service industry angel. The decor inside was bright and cozy, and I loved their retail selection featuring local makers. I got an oat milk dirty carrot cake iced chai. It was exactly what I needed. 10/10, will recommend in this life...
