Lampasas McDonald's is one of the worst fast food restaurants in town. There parking for dine-in is obstructed by a poor design for a double lane drive through. If the line is long and you dine-in, you will spend an additional 10 to 15min. getting out of the parking lot due to the one lane through the parking lot that is shared with the drive through traffic. There desire for more business falls face first with a set up that does not accommodate. For several years I have been in the area and have experienced there extremely poor response times if you've decided to try the drive through. Best case scenario, 15 to 20 min with little to no traffic. Then there is my least favorite... recently Lampasas McDonalds has nearly doubled in there menu price. This to me is ridiculous... McDonalds was known for cheap food with quick response times. Not dine in restaurant food and prices... In conclusion, my suggestion for travelers who desire McDonald's, wait an additional 15min and go to Burnet or 20min to Copperas Cove. There menu prices average 1/3 to 1/2 off the price of Lampasas. Again it is McDonalds and the food is already well below average combined with the spike in cost and poor location design... but if you truly want to have a real burger then go down the street to Storms. You're welcome... 😁 **UPDATE (27-Dec-2018)... Kerville, Tx McDonalds... same order as above was nearly $3 cheaper. That's for one meal......
Read moreAt first I was going to order at the counter inside since the drive-thru was busy, and the posted hours said they didn't close until much later. However, the door was locked. One of the employees did actually come over and opened the door to ask me what I needed. She explained that the indoor dining was closed; when I pointed out the posted hours she apologized and said she would mention the sign to the manager. By then drive-thru had cleared so I went there and ordered a combo, substituting a shake for the soft drink. The employee working the drive-thru apologized, but said the shake machine was jammed. I settled for the soft drink. 4 stars for the misinformation about the hours and the broken shake machine, neither of which was a failure of the employees working that night. I live in California, and I can't remember the last time I was able to get a shake at ANY McDonald's. Apparently McDonald's shake machines are so notorious for breaking down on a regular basis, and being so difficult to fix that a special technician must be called every single time one breaks, that there is a site called "McBroken." WIRED Magazine has run several articles about this. Corporate has yet to come up with a satisfactory solution, and in fact is suing the small...
Read moreBoth lanes of the drive thru where completely packed with customers, so I decided it would be quicker for me if I just went inside. I was just ordering a cup of coffee, so surely it would be a quick visit.
Inside, they had gone to those stupid kiosks, which means a couple seconds to ask for a coffee turns into a lengthy ordeal to hunt for, select, and customize what I wanted, then hope the hundreds of other customers using the kiosk before me washed their hands, since there's no hand sanitizer nearby. This is a corporate issue, but should be mentioned.
After getting my simple order placed at last, I paid, but no receipt printed. I'm not sure if it was out of paper or broken, but I now had no idea what my order number was. I assumed it would be easy to pick up the right one, since it was such a simple order, and didn't worry.
Ten minutes later, I still hadn't seen my order come up, and they no longer had it listed in their computer, so they either bumped it off the order screen, or gave it to someone else, I suppose.
Thankfully, a nice young man struck up conversation with me, and asked what I was saying for, and immediately went and got my coffee for me quickly.
It shouldn't be this difficult and time consuming to get a...
