Greenhouse Cafe — Restaurant in Lancaster

I took my girlfriend here to eat LUNCH. I ordered a grilled cheese sandwich. Which is 2 slices of bread, a little butter, and 2 pieces of cheese. I asked if they had fries to go with my grilled cheese sandwich, and they said no. They do not have anything fried there. They offered me chips. I ordered the grilled cheese, chips, and water. My girlfriend had a chicken salad and water. My sandwich and chips was $9.00. The chicken salad was $18.00. So a salad, a sandwich, and chips with waters was $30 plus a tip.

When my order came, I was surprised by the presentation of my sandwich plate. The serving size of chips was very small. The first time, I received basically the crumbs of the bottom of a bag. After making the staff aware that I received crumbs, she apologized and brought me 10 whole chips. Literally 10 chips with my sandwich for $9.00+. Needless to say, I will not ever be going back to this, rip off of a restaurant. $30 plus a tip for a sandwich and salad at lunchtime seems quite a bit ridiculous.

Save yourself some time and money and go anywhere...

To explain how GREAT of a restaurant this establishment is, I am deeply sad that I am never able to take pictures of the entree. The food here is absolutely SPECTACULAR and I just can't wait to dig in, so I always forget to snap a photo.

I've been working here in Lancaster for the past month and wanted to eat something healthy so I typed in healthy and WAHLA! Enter Greenhouse Cafe! Boy am I happy I found this place, I cannot put into words how AMAZING every single dish on the menu is, it is purely UNDESCRIBABLE.

I am not a big salad eater but boy I can eat their salad everyday, the pasta portions are EXTREMELY generous and ooo so DELICIOUS! not to mention their sandwiches and clam chowder is TOP NOTCH! I eat here at least 2 times a week with no regrets.

For the QUALITY of food you get, the price is UNBEATABLE. All in all I am so grateful that I found this local GEM in Lancaster and I am forever a loyal customer thank you Greenhouse Cafe!!

HIGHLY HIGHLY RECOMMEND...

Bad luck recently. I’ve been going to this location since it was just the left side of the building that it’s in and there was some sort of bakery on the right side. It’s been a long time and I’ve had a consistent time at the place. It has really good Wi-Fi and some of the best at a dine in sit down location. The problem is the last two consecutive meals I got there, there was a funny taste in the pasta, especially the chicken, and then the next day I had a very strong bouts of nausea which lasted almost the entire day. I don’t know if one of the flavoring ingredients has gone bad and they don’t know about it or I just had bad luck with chicken. I’m sad that I might be avoiding the location for a while or trying something else the next time I stop over. I have a long lasting fondness for this restaurant. It and I have been around a long time. I hope whatever problem cropped up for me was just random bad luck of the universe and good...
