I gave 1 star simply because the chicken (although greasy) was good. The service is terribly in need of total restaurant management training. I ordered the night before and was informed 40 minutes after placing my order that they were out of every thing except chicken. My order was canceled because they were closing. Was informed by the lady on the phone that their food is VERY GOOD and they run out early and I should order 3-4 hours before they closed. BecausecI called 45 minutes before closing I didn't trip too hard. Although disappointed, the next day (trying to give our Black businesses a chance) I called my order in at 3:32pm. I was given an original delivery time of 4:05pm...only to receive a text by the Door Dash driver at 4:20pm that the place was busy and my order would be delivered at 4:45pm. WHAT??? The driver follows with a call at 4:23pm to tell me that they are out of yams and do I want something else. I inquired and settle for potato salad. My order finally arrives at 4:57pm...(1 hour and 25 minutes after I placed the order)...AND YOU GUESSED IT...IT WAS WRONG! I ordered (a) 2 wings with sides and (b) 2 thighs with sides. I received all wings...no thighs in sight! I call the business and inform them of the oversight. The response was..."Oh yeah, I think we ran out of thighs." Well, I have run out of patience. The food was not as good as the other employee from the night before exclaimed. It was subpar, at the most. The sides were small in portion, especially for the price I paid. The greens were not good at all. The potato salad was just as good as any other store bought potato salad. The Mac 'n cheese passed, but was not appealing to the eye. The cornbread muffin tasted like a cornbread cupcake...too sweet. Oh yeah, thanks for the dry waffle that was at the bottom of the chicken container. I tried, inspite of the previous night's disappointed cancelation, to give them a chance.. However, it just won't work for me. It is too reminiscent of the all to infamous closed black establishments that didn't survive because of poor restaurant skills, purchasing, organization and customer service skills. I wish them well and hope they take the time to up their game. If not, the will be Crackin...
Read more10/8/21 710p, I ordered the crackin special which has 2 waffles and 1/4 chicken. You sent me 1 waffle, and now you won't answer your phone...yeah right!! That's what I get for ordering online...so I called again 810p, Susan answered and heard my explanation and put the phone down, and I waited 10 min and 43, then they hung up. I called again, 827p, Susan answered again, I asked for the manager, she said she was the manager. Explained that I ordered at 708p thru Doordash, and when he delivered, my order was incomplete. She told me I had to call Doordash, I asked why call doordash if my food came from crackin, she repeated "you have to call doordash," said thank you and hung up the phone. This review is why it's very difficult to support black owned businesses. I hope their lights stay on with my $4.50 for a waffle and no responsibility for...
Read moreI’ll put this simply, great food but horrible, horrible service. There’s no order amongst the staff. They’re wait times go over, they take guest orders at random so forget where you are in line. And there’s no priority order. I was told my meal was still being made after it was set for pick up and still had to wait another hour while other patrons would get their orders and leave resulting in having no sides/meals for those already placed. While being serviced the phone rang and the employee put me on hold to talk on the phone. The person there should have priority over a phone call. While I don’t mind sitting and inspecting I wasn’t the only one who noticed how service was and was discussed among others. It’s unfortunate that a establishment that has the potential to do well just their...
