I was not leaving Lancaster without any treats! I found this place late evening on a Sunday holiday weekend. It was PACKED PACKED. I had to wait in a very long line but It was worth it to me. I found parking literally right out front as most people had i assumed walked to here. I unfortunately did not get some pictures id like to of gotten because it was so busy and people were trying to find parking and there were families with little little children all around so I was just trying to get in and out. It is a quaint old timey shop feel. It has chocolates in all the cases and along the walls all kinds of fudge and chocolates and candies and stroops to choose from while you wait in line. I saw a basket with 50% off stroops that were somehow not done right... they looked fine to me, so I grabbed a few. I also got 2 1/4 lb fudge packages for my mom and us to cut up and share. She loves loves loves fudge especially the fudge from the shore!!! So I had to try Dutch fudge!!! N it was as good as one could imagine!!! I got a stroop ice cream sandwich and you can choose from their wide range of ice cream options of what flavors you want in your ice cream sandwich. Yes a stroop ice cream sandwich!!!! Just when u think a Dutch delight couldnt get any better they added milky high point ice cream made right there in Amish country!!!! I also had an iced coffee and they used fresh ground beans right there that was steamed into half the cup over a half a cup of ice and added fresh cream!!!! Ugh my mouth is watering as i sit and write this review!!! đ©.... it was worth the long line it really was and the little extra time it took us to drive back to central Delaware that evening enjoying our Dutch treats as we drove the hour and 45 mins home in the setting sun đ on the country winding roads!!! If no one has taken that drive just for some treats you are missing out on the simple pleasures of life my dear...
Read moreJust had ice cream delivered from grub hub. The ice cream sundaes were horrible. Got a 2 scoop each ina little container with no whipped cream or cherry. Can understand fudge on side could melt ice cream. But a little container. The sundaes through grub hub were 9.50 but if get at store they are 6.50. Why? Expected this amazing sundae. They were not. Will only go to friendlys in the future. Was our go to place. Thought try something different. Not impressed actually very disappointed. Between quality of product and grub hub never again. It was like eating a double scoop of ice cream and nothing else. This establishment should be ashamed of themselves cause it was really bad. I am not one to like to write reviews but for 40.61 I might as well throw my money away cause I threw my ice cream away. In todayâs times positive vibes are the way I am. But this order I canât find anything good about it. I did call Grub hub and I was reimbursed for the whole bill. And it wasnât all their fault. Sorry sweet shop but it...
Read moreTheir flavors are inconsistent. First time i went there, got coffee flavor milkshake, it was good. Second and third time, just ok, not much flavor in it. Fourth time, it was disgusting. Milkshake had some black little bits, like literally coffee grounds (noup, i didnt add anything extra to it, at least, i didn't ask for any). Thought maybe i was being a little picky, so had my bf tried it and he immediately made a face. Had a friend try the same flavor, not from here though, but from the farm they get their ice cream. And she mentioned a similar case. She ordered coffee milkshake and saw how they mixed in coffee ground and tasted awful. It just leaves a bad after taste in your mouth. Love their stroopies and chocolate pretzels. But other than that, their ice cream is a no go...
