I was anticipating this exciting new restaurant for several months now, waiting for an opportunity to go, and I was hoping it was going to be an amazing place, but unfortunately we were a bit disappointed. The atmosphere was nice. Pleasant and modern furniture and atmosphere overall. Nice service, although nothing exceptional. The food was a hit and miss. Drinks - very good, but just a bit pricey. Complimentary bread - good, but gets hard very quickly after it cools down (a few minutes later). Appetizer (crispy shrimp) - delicious! Dinner - swordfish was very very good, but the steak that my husband got was chewy and very poor quality. We were very disappointed and shocked with this! Desserts - candy bar dessert was delicious, but the lemon cheesecake was good but just tasted not very high quality. Overall, food was good, except for the steak, which was probably the most disappointing steak I've ever tried at any restaurant. I'm hoping it was just an off-day and not the usual. And finally, the last thing that was disappointing was that my special request was not honored. I put in a special request to write a special message for my husband and me for our 1st Anniversary (I wanted them to write something on the dessert plate), but they didn't do it! I have gone to many other nice restaurants like the Imperial, and they almost always honor a special request such as this, but not this place. Overall, we were disappointed, but it wasn't the worst experience. I'm hoping they will improve and get better, especially since it's only a new restaurant. But it just wasn't the best experience for our anniversary dinner.

Came recommended as a nice place downtown. The decor was great, drinks were also, but the food left me wanting. M had the cucumber pistachio maple (cucumber gin with pistachio, honey and maple lime) and i went with the emancipator - a buffalo trace manhattan. Both were tasty. M and I both got the tomato bisque. She was a fan, but I was not. As a bisque I feel like it fell a bit short of flavor and smoothness for me for many other bisques ive had at half the price . Just too coarse and nothing complex in the flavor. Like a simplified tomato sauce with cheese on top. Enter the hand helds. I went with smash burger, herb fries and a side of mayo. M went with the chicken sandwich with same. Her sandwich was tasty, and large. The smash burgers, not so much. She did comment that she'd seen larger patties at McDonald's. The sandwich overall was small, and not as much flavor as other pub smash burgers that I've had locally. I definitely expected more from the same menu that featured things like pork and filets for nearly $40 per plate. The herb fries were little more than what tasted like frozen fries with a little coarse salt on them. And the mayo was forgotten so I waited while the runner went all over creation to find it. Bless him. Overall.. I don't know that I'd come back unless I was trying one of the entrees. It would really be one make or break chance. Definitely not getting the bisque or fries again. $75 for what we got wasnt the worst thing, but far too expensive. I wish I could give half stars, but I rounded up.

**First impressions:** Upon arrival the host was so kind and welcoming. The restaurant was extremely loud—distractingly and uncomfortably so. Patrons don’t have to be speaking loudly for their voices to carry, especially when seated near the middle of the space. Sound panels or anything to absorb some of the noise would really improve the ambiance. Our server, Kacie, was pleasant, honest, caring, and attentive—we couldn’t have asked for better service from her, as well as from the other staff we interacted with. **Now to the entrées:** The scallops were delicious and well-seasoned (they could’ve been a tad bigger for the price), but overall, it was a solid, flavorful dish. The seafood gnocchi, on the other hand, lacked the flavor and refinement that the scallops offered. Unfortunately, it didn’t have the shaved parm on top as promised on the menu, and the scallops didn’t add much to the dish. A combination of shrimp, crab, and lobster would’ve elevated the dish—especially with a bump in flavor to the sherry cream sauce. **Dessert:** The lemon sorbet was presented perfectly. The garnish enhanced the lemony flavor you’d expect from a good sorbet, and it served as a perfect intermezzo. I might dine there again, in hopes of giving it a chance at redemption—but on this visit, the service impressed more than the food, and we left underwhelmed.

The service at this restaurant was terrible. I waited at the host station for 10-15 minutes before she showed up. I told her I need r a table for two and she told me 35 minute wait I said okay and she walked away. No let me get your name or number nothing. I then proceeded to wait my time and I’m about 30 mins in not including 10-15 I waited already and a family of 6 comes in and she sat them immediately. At this point I am pissed so I decided I would just place a to go order. I go to the bar and proceed to wait another 10-15 minutes before I am acknowledged. During that time I saw another couple who came in and sat the bar who wasn’t acknowledged get up and walk out, I finally place my order and ask how long it would be which I was told 20-30 minutes so I told them I’d come back. When I came back I proceeded to wait some more and then my food finally came. I paid and left. Once I opened my daughter’s food which was the maple salmon the container was full of water and her food was disgusting. I then opened my sea scallops which looked better than my daughters but was the nastiest sea scallops and undercooked risotto I have ever had. For an $80 dinner this was a complete waste of my money not to mention my time wasted. I am humble enough to add that this restaurant was clearly understaffed (although it wasn’t that busy lots of open tables) however simple things like greeting a customer and letting them know you would be with them shortly could have saved that one couple from walking out and not further pissing me off. This place is horrible all the way around and I do...
