Sunday May 4th 2025 in the evening a male security guard went up to me and told me I’m not allowed to lay down on the wooden pillar which is what that made for!! And told me I needed to sit up. Excuse me, this is a public park! People should be able to relax if they want to. That like if you go to New York City and the police tell you your not allowed to lay down on the grass at Washington Square Park. He also thought I was homeless, like what?? Listen, the only reason why I layed down is because I got too full from a restaurant nearby and i needed a space to let the food digest as I felt uncomfortable standing up. Read morePark or art instillation I can't tell. If it is a park, it is not a very inviting one. The aesthetics are bleak and manufactured. It feels very fake. Maybe that's because of the fake grass and the patch of real grass that is permanently blocked off which you are not allowed to walk on despite it taking up a large amount of space. This place reminds me of Thneedville in the Lorax where everything is made out of plastic and highly artificial.

There is the new Lancaster Public library, benches, planters, wide walks to skate on, trees and lovely landscaping, covered swings, and tables and chairs. Right now there is a covered piano for the summer. Plus, the centerpiece is the incredibly magnificent statue of Barney Ewell, Olympian, Lancastrian and role model & friend to all.
