A few that detail unhinged, if not outright abusive behavior.
I attempted to post onto the Village Pizzeria Facebook page, but was promptly blocked.
1: My six year old daughter and I arrived 40 minutes before the posted closing hours.
2: We were told that they were no longer taking in-house orders but that we could buy slices that were already made.
3: We were told we would not be allowed to eat inside. Despite the fact that there were 10 or more people still inside, including multiple employees and at least 4 diners. I explained that we weren't from there, so we couldn't "take it to-go."
4: I protested that as a customer, it didn't seem reasonable that we couldn't sit down inside to eat, even if not at a table (there is a bench for to-go orders). I was told that would not be allowed.
5: I let them know that I would be leaving a negative rating. This was stated. NOT yelled, or threatened.
• This is when things took a truly left-hand turn towards awful.
• I was informed that I was NOT A CUSTOMER. I was just someone making them cold by holding the door open (it was open a minute? Probably less, the exchange wasn't long) and that I should close the door and leave.
• As I turned away and closed the door behind me, I heard someone call out: "Get the F* OUT of here!"
• The worst part was that it all happened in front of my daughter. She couldn't have been overlooked, she was standing very clearly in front of me with my hand on her shoulder.
• Once the door was closed, the questions started, "All we wanted was pizza. I'm hungry. Why couldn't we buy pizza? Why were they so mean to us? We didn't do anything to them. What were they being so mean about?"
• It was also the first time she (we) were sworn at. With the F word no less. That was a whole other conversation to go over with her.
• Two other patrons were on their way across the street, I flagged them down to give them a heads up that they were closing and we were yelled at because of it. They must have been regulars, because it was strongly implied that we were at fault.
• Adding to my confusion, is that they didn't appear to be turned away like we were.
• It's too bad, we had been told to come there because it was supposed to be a great place. However, we literally "didn't make it through the front door."
• I will let the local merchant that made the recommendation know about our experience so they can take it into consideration when making future recommendations.
• My daughter did finally get to eat, but it wouldn't be for another hour on an already...

If you are in Langley, WA, and have not been to Village Pizzeria yet, you are missing a serious local gem. This place is not just about great pizza. It is about the whole experience. Think Killer slices a cozy small-town vibe and a waterfront view that makes every bite even better. Whether you are a local or just passing through, this spot deserves a stop.
🍕What Should You Order Let's be honest. Every pizza here is a winner, but some have earned a special place in the hearts of regulars. The vegetarian pizza is a favorite, packed with fresh toppings that taste like they belong there, not just an afterthought. Then there is the pesto pizza, which is a total game-changer. That rich, garlicky, herb-packed pesto sauce makes every bite unforgettable. Even with a simple cheese or pepperoni, you will still get a perfectly crispy yet chewy crust with the right amount of sauce and cheese.
🏠 Laid Back Vibes and Friendly Service The atmosphere here is as good as the food. It has that classic small-town pizzeria feel—nothing pretentious, just solid food and good energy. The staff is super welcoming, adding to the laid-back charm. If you are visiting during a town event or peak hours, be ready for a short wait, but trust me, it is worth it.
🌊 Pizza With a View and Dog-Friendly Seating What sets Village Pizzeria apart from just another pizza joint is its location. You are not just here for the food; you are here for the scenic waterfront view that makes every meal feel special. There is outdoor seating where you can enjoy the ocean breeze, and here is the best part: It is dog-friendly. That means you and your pup can kick back, relax, and enjoy some great food together.
🔥 Final Verdict: A Must-Visit Village Pizzeria is more than just a place to grab a slice. It is an experience. With top-notch pizza, a cozy atmosphere, friendly staff, and unbeatable waterfront views, this spot is a no-brainer. Whether you are looking for a quick bite or a laid-back meal with a view, this place delivers every single time.

Read moreThe owner/manager here, ‘Mickey’ or ‘Mikey’, is absolutely crazy. We ate here once, and it was nothing special, or even very good. Expensive for what it was, an undercooked pizza with little topping (maybe we got lucky?) Staff were hard to flag down, drinks were never refilled, and it was noisy and crowded. Oh, the VIEW is beautiful, but you can also see that view by standing in the little ‘park’ area that’s free to the public right next door, without having to suffer through a meal. Why I said the owner was crazy was because what happened a year or two later. My wife and I went to Langley to shop at the store and eat at the restaurant across the street from the pizza place. We found a parking spot directly across from the pizzeria. A car with a family inside was, at the same time, just parking in front of the pizza place. As I was getting out of my car the man driving the other car rolled down his window and asked me if the pizza place was any good; did I recommend it? We spoke a bit and I told him that there were better places to get a pizza on the island, and told him of my experience there. Just then a blonde woman, ‘Mickey’, comes running out of the pizza place, yelling at the top of her lungs for me to “shut up” and mind my own business. Just then, a local deputy or Langley Police car was slowly cruising by, and she ran out to stop it and told the officer to “arrest me”(!). No, I am NOT making this up! I had a chat with the officer, all the while Mickey is turning tomato-sauce red in the face yelling at both of us. The tourist and his family looked afraid and drove off. The officer told Mickey that I was not doing anything illegal, smirked, and drove off. To protect my car from this crazy person we drove around until we found another spot a block or two away. NEVER AGAIN will I even go NEAR this place and not wear my mask and perhaps a disguise. Moral of the story: if you DO go there and have a complaint about your food, DO NOT ask to speak with the manager!! Count it as a loss, pay your check, and leave quietly. This place is not only BAD, but...
