This was a refreshing change from going to get a cone at Carvel. Mimi's Creamery and Coffee located 7 minutes off Lanatana Road was delightful! The servers are friendly and welcoming. I sampled the cotton candy, coconut, passionfruit and strawberry flavors. The passionfruit tasted exactly like passionfruit lol. I've had Italian Ice a few places before and it was never tasted so good. I mentioned this to the owner and she said that she makes a fresh batch everyday. They offer an extensive menu from ice cream, coffee and fruit smoothies. I especially liked that they had games located inside for kids and adults alike. The games consisted of: jenga, checkers, chess and connect 4. The shop is located right across from the public library with a corner view so one can people/street watch and enjoy their dessert at leisure. This place is perfect for singles, families and couples. I enjoyed Mimi's very much. The environment was very relaxing and had a beach like decor. The service was warm and friendly, and I was helped quickly from sampling flavors, to serving, to payment. For my first experience there, I went with the moosetracks flavor, which was very delicious and packed with peanut butter cups and chocolate chips. Also, the ice cream itself was smooth and flavorful. The waffle cone is what really made the experience for me. I don't know if they were made in house or what, but it was thin and crispy and light, unlike a lot of cones that are reminiscent of stale keebler out of the box attempts at the real deal. I would definitely return, especially for the frozen coffee beverages they served to some kids behind me that probably should not be drinking coffee at their age (but what do I know about parenting)? I guess I should be thanking them for the free advertisement, I suppose. Definitely made me want to come back...
