Apple Tree Family Dining — Restaurant in Lapeer

So I visited with my wife, kid, and best friend on New Years day 2019. I will start with the fact that I was very happy with the waitress that served our table that day. She was very respectful, understanding and quick with resolution. Now with that being said, breakfast is one of the most basic of meals, and is very hard to mess up. Starting with my wifes, the scrambled eggs with cheese on top were cold, the cheese looked as if it were microwaived to melt vs. by natural heat, and her hashbrowns were cold and undercooked. The waitress did respond to our concern and got fresh for her. The bacon for her was also clearly cooked yesturday and warmed up in the microwave today. My meal was a "Greek Skillet" which I might ad, use to be served in a skillet. Mine that day came on a cold plate, the potatoes were undercooked and greasie. The amount of feta was overwelming and the meat was dry. My pouched eggs were almost perfect slightly over cooked ( tough to make perfect though). My friend ordered egg, ham, and cheese on muffin. Cheese here again looked melted by microwave not natural heat. For this particular dish the natural heat could have been covered simply by putting cheese on the egg and splash with a little bit of water and cover to steam for a few seconds. While we enjoyed our waitress, the other staff made snarky comments about our issues and voice personal opinons in front of customers, very unprofessional. Over all think that the kitchen staff that day was lazy, and the other waitresses were rude. This is our last visit...

Went for first time wife ordered grilled chicken brest I got the 1/2 BBQ chicken. We both got a class of water and potato and chicken lemon rice soup. On menu says comes with veg and Potato. Also soup or salad or coleslaw. My meal was fine the soups we very good. But the grilled chicken brest was flaten to about 1/4 thick. Think they used a press to cook it. It was to hard to eat it. So shared my chicken with her and when the waitress came around wife informed her that her chicken was very hard. The bill at that point was $31.76 she took it back and talked to manager. She brought it back said they only charged her meal as a potato and the gravy. $25.39. I went up to pay but took picture of the bill cause it really didn't make sense the way it was written up. After home we figured the should have been $21.77 inc tax. In the bottom part they charged both of us for the soup that should have been included with meal But since they went ala cart for wife's the soup charge would be included but mine should not have. Met a friend there this morning at 10am. We both drove almost an hour to meet here. Seated at 10:10am. She ordered a tea and let our waitress know that was all we were ordering. She turned away quickly and never even brought napkins. After 15 minutes, an owner/manager made his way back to our corner and asked how we were doing. Five minutes later another gentleman came by and told us we could move to the counter to sit. We explained we drove a long way to meet, just wanted to sit and catch up. He again told us we should move to the counter. We saw our waitress and showed her that we were going to leave $20 for a $2.10 tea. She apologized and said she would talk to her boss. At 10:37, the second man came back and told us we had to leave. He could not have us sitting in his restaurant without eating. We told him we were leaving $20. He said he didn't care about the waitress getting a tip. He cared that he wasn't making any money on food from us. And he made us leave. There were empty tables and no line at the door.
