Checkers — Restaurant in Lapeer

I went through the drive thru around 11:10 pm tonight. There was an automated voice taking my order, and I was trying to order the brisket sandwich, but the voice kept telling me that they don't carry brisket... Okay, whatever, so I change my order. When I got to the window, the guy opens the window and just says "hi, $17" in a rude and annoyed voice. I asked if they carry the brisket sandwich and he says no, but there's a huge sign outside advertising it. So I tell him and told him I just ordered one last night and he goes "oh I guess we do.." like okay? You work there and don't even know what they're advertising or what y'all carry?? His attitude was terrible. I get that you probably don't want to be there, however, I was there almost an hour before y'all closed and wanna act like it's an inconvenience to have a customer. Also my sandwich was supposed to have Swiss not American but that was wrong. Like come on... I was the ONLY customer and u can't get my order right and on top of it have a nasty attitude. Just super sad...

Stopped to get a Brookie on the last day of a reward/offer for one free and OMG it was warm, tasty, and bigger than I expected and IMHO worth the price. Part chocolate chip cookie and part delectable chocolate brownie, a Brookie would be amazing with a cone or cup of vanilla ice cream and a spoon. I had planned on taking it to eat later, but when I realized it was warm, I decided to enjoy it right away. Shakes in vanilla, chocolate, strawberry, and my favorite banana can be ordered in person as part chocolate and part banana, part banana and part strawberry, part strawberry and chocolate, etc. One recommendation is their chicken bites box which are boneless, breaded white meat chicken pieces and their award winning, battered fries with a choice of dipping sauce. Well today we went thru the drivethru for a drink and fries at Checkers in Lapeer. The gals at the window were reaching out the window,head out the window and very close to our car window. Close to my husband who was driving. Close. They had no masks. There was at least 3 people in that window area and in close quarters and no masks. We said you arent wearing masks and you are supposed to. The gal in the window said to us ..'it wasnt a law and it was just something the governor said'. As of yesterday it was an emergency action .Are you kidding me? So I said 'but you are putting us in danger you should not be that close without a mask.' We didnt get our masks on fast enough we thought we were in our car so didnt expect that. As soon as I find the owner I will be letting him or her know!!
