Fuddruckers — Restaurant in Laredo

This place was awful and we will never go back here. First, it was dirty. The tables weren’t washed and the floor was all sticky. We ordered our food which seemed to go well but when it was ready it was pure chaos. There was no way to tell whose food was whose because they just put everyone’s order on the counter, ours and another few orders. After we figured it out and we ate burgers, which were tasty, we went back up to order dessert. We ordered from the menu, a shake, a couple of scoops of ice and the Fudd Brownie Blast (which was on the menu). The lady, who seemed very irritated by us just being there, took our order…15 minutes later we were still missing the brownie blast, which was chocolate and vanilla ice cream on a brownie with caramel and fudge. With so much attitude, the lady pointed at a plate that had been sitting on the counter (she never told us it was ours and we were standing there) that was a brownie and vanilla ice cream, that’s it. I told her that this wasn’t what was on the menu, nor was it what we were charged for. She called over the manager or owner or whoever he was and told him what our concern was. He never even looked at us. He didn’t talk with us. It was like we didn’t exist, it was so strange. They were speaking in Spanish so I’m not sure what he said but he shrugged his shoulders, made a hand movement about pouring something over the ice cream and went back and sat down. So then the lady to the melted mess that had been sitting there this whole time, put Hershey’s chocolate syrup (not even fudge) on it, put it back on the counter and walked away! We attempted to eat a little of it, but the ice cream was almost completely melted and the brownie was frozen, obviously just taken out of a package directly from their fridge. I want to like this place as much as my girlfriend, but we have a bad experience in one way or another every single time we go.

It's not terrible. We just either get a mix up with our order, or the cashiers seem to have a bad attitude. I'm talking, the last 5 times I've been here it's been one of those two issues.

You would think at that point... Maybe it's me? Maybe I'm coming across crabby or something? But this has actually happened with my girlfriend ordering for the two of us. We get bad attitude. I infact reported it to a manager on a particular occasion about two years ago.

Then, sometime last year, nothing wrong with my order personally, but I was there in a group... With my girlfriend's family... one of their orders was wrong, and it had to be sent back.

Every few months, my girlfriend likes to go back. She likes the food. I keep thinking that the turnover will bring in good blood, but somehow... It's always the same, just different faces.

I think part of the problem is the cashiers are always chatting it up, and when we approach they look at us like we are interrupting them. I mean, we are, technically, but taking our order is your primary function while you're clocked in. When I was on register at another job, we could chat it up, but when customers where in line, we cut the noise and got in the customer service mindset.

On my most recent visit, I gave up and simply let my girlfriend eat. When she was done, we drove to Whataburger and got some...

Worst experience there so far. They took literally 40 minutes to make my burger (no cheese or bacon either, just the plain burger). I ordered it Medium and it came out Well Done. The meat looked like it broke apart during cooking and they tried to smash it back together. The taste of the meat was off somehow, and the taste of the bread was too "doughy" (which I've never had it taste like that before). The lettuce was empty for the entire time I was there, only when I was starting to leave did they finally bring out a new tray of lettuce, half the size of the one that was there. The punch drink (trying to avoid sodas) was 95% water and 5% of the punch, which was probably because of the punch syrup running out. And finally, their parking lot is in an incredible amount of disrepair, probably the worst in Laredo.
