I've eaten here twice in the last three days. On both occasions, I went there for the fish-n-chips. I was so impressed with my first visit that I had to go back. The second visit did not disappoint. Each time, I was served two pieces of fish, approximately 8 or 9 inches long, about 3 inches wide in the middle, tappering down to about 2 inches on each end. At about 3/4 inches thick, the lightly crisp crunch of the golden batter coating and the fluffy white melt in your mouth fish (probably cod) was enjoyably delicious. It was served on top of a plate full of chips (fries), which were good. It was served hot straight out of the fryer. The small side of the coleslaw slaw that came with the meal went undertouched by me.
The restaurant/bar is located in a strip mall. The decor is supposed to resemble an Irish pub. There are many televisions with different sports on each. There are two bars in the facility, one on each side of the restaurant. When I entered through the door, the hostess was replaced with a welcoming sign saying to seat yourself. The overall appearance is that this place has seen better days. It was clean, just old wear and tear.
I thought the wait staff was awesome. The waitresses didn't appear to have assigned tables. I was helped by four different waitresses during my first visit and two (less busy day) on my second. I never ran out drink nor waited more than a few minutes for anything. The waitresses were extremely nice and friendly, but not in a non flirty kind of way.
What I did not mention above is that I also had the baked meatballs on the first visit. They were good. They were baked in a small cast iron skillet with marinara sauce and covered in mozarella, they were good and served hot. On the second visit, I ordered the fried mushrooms. They are batter dipped and served with a weak horseradish sauce. These also came to the table extremely hot. The mushrooms were good, but I don't really think the horseradish is the best option for the mushroom,
Sorry I didn't take...
Read moreWe got there and it wasn't busy. We got to seat ourselves. Waitress was great and came over right away to ask what we wanted to drink. Just wanted simple fountain sodas. Sprite and Ginger Ale. We got our drinks and both of them were flat. My sprite tasted like water. We both had to send our drinks back for new ones. So right away we're unimpressed. Didn't get any free bread for the table or anything like Outback does or any other restaurant. When we got out food all my vegetables were undercooked and hard. The mashed potatoes weren't mashed and had huge chunks in it. The meatloaf was actually good. But when half ur meal is messed up, you really can't enjoy the good parts. So I ended up taking almost my whole meal home so I could cook it properly. My mom's Shepard Pie she said tasted like beer and was a full bowl of mush. She barely ate any of it before she gave up on it. Worst part was my mom wanted to tell the manager about the dishes and he didn't even care. If the manager doesn't care and doesn't want to make his customers happy, then they really have a problem there. We understood immediately why it wasn't busy in there. We have been going around to try out different restaurants to schedule a ladies luncheon there next month. We will definitely not be holding our function there, we will never return to eat there, and will never recommend them to anyone we know and if we here anyone wants to try it we will warn them not to go there. Completely discusting. They need Gordan Ramsey to set them straight. I bet u would have to be very drunk to enjoy that food. Should've just ordered a burger or something easy for their chef since obviously he's not a top chef but a...
Read moreTHIS IS WORTH THE READ. We’ve been here twice and the first time we didn’t get good service but the food was good so we wanted to try it again. Tonight we went back and it was a bigger disappointment then the time my mom found out my brother was sleeping with a married woman. The food once again was great, but Jesus himself couldn’t help these servers/ bartenders. We waited 10 minutes for someone to even greet us, but it also took ten minutes for us to even spot someone who worked there. When we finally got a person they took our drinks and dropped them off and left without saying anything. Then someone else came and took our order but the whole time these people are acting like a 16 yo girl who didn’t get the right colored Porsche for her birthday. He then forgets my order so he has to come back to ask me again but when we finally got our food it was still messed up. And nobody came back to check on us until we finally had to wave someone down. And the whole time we’re trying to once again find a server/ bartender or whoever decided to take our table, the manager is arguing with the table behind us, because they had complaints on the service and food as well and he said “if you don’t like our food you can leave”. Now, I’m not a customer is always right person, but these people weren’t being disrespectful, so the manager shouldn’t be either. Anyways, the point is. If you wanna eat here. Do takeout. Foods good. But, if you love yourself, don’t sit through this...
