My wife and I decided to give this place a chance, despite the trepidation we had from its outward appearance. The exterior walls are unfinished as it's currently going through renovation. It looks to be a small diner from the outside, however once you enter you realize it's actually much larger. The interior is done in a traditional diner fashion with somewhat worn but comfortable tables and booths. The waitress was very polite and friendly. We ordered coffees, a large orange juice (not fresh squeezed) and perused the menu. They had a full breakfast menu with very cheap prices. A special of the diner was quiche, which I have not seen in other breakfast restaurants. I ordered a sausage egg and cheese croissant with a side of bacon, which was served nice and crispy. My wife ordered the quich of the day which was broccoli & cheese. All the food was very delicious, though I would say the quiche could have been crisped a little bit more with a touch more butter (of course I stole a bite!). Overall very happy with the experience and will return. Probably the cheapest (price only) breakfast I've had in a while. Also they are...
Read moreI have passed Kim's Family Restaurant many many times but had never checked it out. The outside of the building looks like it has been under construction for years. Which it has. After 5 years, the construction company is still working on it, but that is outside of Kim's control. The interior of the restaurant is very nice. There are teapots on shelfs decorated in the larger dining area, and in the entrance is a counter area or plenty of tables to sit. The breakfast, which I love, is made to order. I have been getting the 3 eggs, bacon, and home fries for just over $8 dollars. The home fries are not your store bought, and they cook it, I suspect someone in the back peels the potatoes, slices them, and they are cooked like scallop style. Just like my mom or grandma made them. I love em. I would say the breakfast is filling and takes care of my hunger. The breakfast to me is like I had at home in my younger years. Forgot about the outside, go inside, and give Kim's a try. Good food and great service. I have been here 3 times, and the breakfast is consistent....
Read moreMy goodness, what a fantastic find! I had the BEST breakfast this morning at Kim's and I am not kidding you. Yes, I was hungry, had been fasting for an early morning lab draw, but even so, this was an amazing breakfast.
I needed coffee, first of all, and this was good, dark coffee. I ordered the Greek gyro with home fries (crisp) and a biscuit. When my waitress (I did not get her name, but everyone was so pleasant) brought the plate, I about fell out of the booth seeing all the food. The omelette draped off the plate on BOTH SIDES! I could not even see the plate, come to think of it. And this wasn't just a lot of food, it was a lot of hot, freshly-made, good-tasting food.
Then came the bill. I thought my waitress had made a mistake, it was so low. They must not have gotten the memo about upping their prices because this was like a step back in time. Actually, that was the case all the way around - good food, good prices, regulars who seemed to have known each other for years. Yeah, I'll...
