Wendy's — Restaurant in Largo

This Wendy's just off of Walsingham at Indian Rocks Road has the potential to be as good as the other Wendy's restaurants but it is evident having been a regular customer there for about 2 years that the employee base it draws on like the other very local restaurants either doesn't pay the people enough or they just don't care. It's truly evident that there is zero sense of urgency at this restaurant and it seems that the segregated Crews they have there no matter what demographic they're comprised of still gives you the same low level of customer service and that coupled with some inappropriate, creepy chatty behavior by certain employees there. The one thing that restaurants like this can do to make the customer happy is have hot food hot and cold food cold. My most recent experience there was tepid fries and the Coca-Cola brand pininfarina drink mix system was out of half of its flavors and it was strangely warm. I never ever get ice in my drinks for a whole variety of sanitary reasons but carbonated Machinery is supposed to be kept at 40 degrees or colder in order to effectively function and this was closer to 70 degrees maybe 80 degrees id est room temperature. There is one other Wendy's location in this County that is absolutely outstanding that will knock your socks off you'll go in there you'll be enthusiastically greeted the employees all obviously have a sense of urgency and the hot food is piping hot the french fries are perfect and the cold drinks are ice cold. Additionally that particular outstanding Wendy's is exceptionally clean in the bathrooms and the dining area. In my experience Wendy's across the board generally are third rate for their cleanliness and all have a grease film in them especially in the dining room. I will not go to this Wendy's regardless of my need for a late meal I've given them many many third chances. Wendy's never ever responds to any negative criticism by inputting their customer...

Last time I’ll ever come to this Wendy’s on Oakhurst. I’ve had iffy experiences in the past but none like this. I pulled up for the drive thru and noticed a couple guys on their break smoking. No big deal I just figured I hope someone’s there to take my order- there was! As soon as I rolled down my window to order all I could smell was weed. Okay, no big deal it’s legal here in FL, but my car still smells like weed inside. Also, I’m not one to judge on that. Pull up to the window to get my food and the kid somehow already had my bag ready to go instantly. Red flag for me as it tells me it’s been premade and sitting at the window for a while (my drive thru time was about a minute.). So I peek in the bag to see it half wrapped in foil wrap.. okkk… I pull it out and it isn’t even rolled up like a wrap. Chicken and lettuce falling out everywhere. I rolled down the window to show the kid and he asked if there was something wrong.. I said is this a wrap or a taco…? He replied it’s a wrap, have you ever ordered one before??? The manager (who seemed a little.. off??) asked if I’d like anything else, apologized, asked if I’d like I refund. I kindly asked for my refund and handed him the bag back. No way am I eating that. Also let him know his employees are out back smoking weed which is one thing, but it’s definitely reflecting on the food they’re serving their customers. For all I know the guys are scratching their privates and wiping it on the food. They obviously don’t care. Stay far far away. This was the LAST. STRAW. I wouldn’t even give the food to my dog. This is the worst Wendy's in pinellas county. Dirty store, food all over the floor! The restaurant was empty except 1 diner. Staff just standing around on their phones. One gentleman, did come wait on us when he noticed no one else would. The only other person actually helping customers had to do so while using the bathroom as no one would help when she asked. While the young man was finishing my order, another girl walks up from the back and starts asking him to go get things to stock the area. He starts to do what she asked and so I asked if he could finish my order as I am almost done and the only one in the store. She immediately got an attitude telling me I'm not important. The next thing I know we are arguing back and forth. I told her I wanted a refund of my order. She refused to refund me, saying I would have to come back the next day. I was not leaving without my order or my refund. After arguing with her I said just give me the rest of my food and I would leave. She again refused. I grabbed what they gave me and walked out. My husband came back in and he only got his frosty(still not everything we ordered) when he threatened to take pictures of the state of the store. Only then did someone come from the back saying no picture's give him his frosty. Definitely not worth the trouble. It's close to my house but I will not return to this location. I have never been so disrespected as a customer.
