My recent dining experience at A Bite of Belgium was truly exceptional and deserves a more detailed account. Stepping inside, I was immediately struck by the thoughtfully curated decor, which fostered an atmosphere of genuine comfort and relaxation. Soft lighting and cozy seating arrangements created an inviting ambiance that made me feel instantly at ease. The attentiveness and personable nature of my waitress further enhanced the welcoming environment. She was prompt, knowledgeable about the menu, and offered helpful suggestions, making the entire service feel both efficient and friendly.
For my main course, I selected the sirloin tip sandwich, a decision I did not regret for a moment. The quality of the ingredients was immediately apparent. The sirloin tips were cooked to perfection, boasting a rich and savory flavor that was incredibly satisfying. What truly elevated this sandwich was the homemade rye bread. Its freshness and slightly tangy flavor provided the ideal complement to the tender sirloin, creating a harmonious blend of textures and tastes.
To accompany my sandwich, I opted for the goat cheese pasta salad. This side dish proved to be a delightful surprise. The creamy goat cheese was expertly balanced with the perfectly cooked pasta and a medley of fresh, vibrant vegetables. The dressing was light and flavorful, tying all the elements together beautifully. It was a refreshing and well-composed salad that showcased a thoughtful approach to flavor combinations.
Finally, I also sampled the French-style green salad with oil and garlic dressing. While seemingly simple, this salad was a testament to the fact that high-quality ingredients and a well-executed dressing can be truly outstanding. The greens were crisp and fresh, and the oil and garlic dressing was light yet incredibly flavorful, providing a refreshing counterpoint to the richer elements of my meal.
In conclusion, my visit to A Bite of Belgium was a thoroughly enjoyable and memorable experience. The restaurant excelled in every aspect, from the comfortable and inviting atmosphere to the exceptional service provided by my waitress. Most importantly, the food was outstanding, characterized by the freshness and high quality of the ingredients and the skillful preparation of each dish. The sirloin tip sandwich on homemade rye bread, the flavorful goat cheese pasta salad, and the refreshing French-style green salad all contributed to an excellent meal that I would highly recommend. A Bite of Belgium has clearly prioritized creating a welcoming space where guests can enjoy delicious, well-crafted food, and I eagerly anticipate...
Read moreWe were passing through town, stayed at a local hotel and woke up looking for a place to have breakfast. We searched up “breakfast restaurants” in the area with 4 or more stars. Google maps had this place at a 4.6, so we thought we would give it a try. When we drove up we found parking a little cramped. Driving one vehicle and a truck pulling a Uhaul trailer - we parked down the road and walked. Entering the restaurant the young lady that greeted us sounded like she wasn’t happy to see us at all “how many?” and gave us a wait time that sounded like she hoped we would reconsider and go somewhere else, but we said “it’s fine, no problem, we’ll wait” she came back a few short minutes later with attitude and sat us. She sat us right behind the wall next to the restrooms at the bar. It was cramped and seemed strange that the place would be so small since we had to walk all the way around the building to get in. My husband said he thought there was a larger dining area on the other side because he could hear voices coming from that end. I got up and went down to the other end and sure enough there was a main dining area there. I went back and joined my family at our table and waited. Our server was very nice. The food took a little while to come out, but it looked very fresh. I ordered the Eggs Benedict, one waffle with vanilla cream cheese and fresh fruit. My son ordered the biscuits and gravy plate. My husband ordered a breakfast plate. We tried a little of everything brought to our table. Here’s what we really enjoyed: the eggs (cooked to perfection), the hollandaise sauce (so rich and creamy), the bacon (perfect thickness and meat on each strip), sausage (great seasoning and tender), the waffle cream (a light vanilla with smooth and buttery cream cheese), fresh fruit (no spoiled or squishy pieces), the biscuits - without the gravy (the biscuit was buttery, soft and had great flavor) and the waffle (the breading was dense but soft and had great flavor) Here’s what we didn’t like: that the hash browns were greasy, the gravy (it was very bland and black pepper content was through the roof and made it too intense to eat), the giant sugar crystals in the waffles, the seating and the attitude from the hostess. Other than that it was an overall good experience. I would definitely go back. I would just ask to be seated in the main area and order things a little differently. Thank you to our server for making us feel so welcome and for taking such...
Read moreFrustrating experience. We visited on a very recent Saturday afternoon and are a married local couple in the 50-60 demographic. A new restaurant guest to this establishment should understand when ordering that the $10.50 entree of waffles on the menu are not fresh baked. They are pre baked and refrigerated, served cold. My entrée arrived and the two small waffles were near freezing cold in temperature and extremely dried out. The knife struggled to even cut off the 1st small bite. Wife and I summoned our waiter as my wife's order arrived incorrect also. She requested her eggs be scrambled and they arrived poached. Wife tasted the cold, dried out waffle bite and commented "unacceptable." Manager arrived and explained "waffles are pre cooked and chilled". A replacement entree item of a burger was ordered with caramelized onions requested "on the side". Wife's entree was remade with scrambled eggs. Her entree arrives but my entree arrives much later. We did not get to enjoy our dining out meal together. My replacement burger entree arrives with caramelized onions cooked into the gouda cheese, not on the side as requested. Burger entree was ordered "medium and juicy". It arrived and a large portion of it was completely cold, raw and uncooked. We summoned the waiter to point out the uncooked ground beef patty. He confirmed, but seemed to not care, even as we pointed out that this was a food safety health hazard. Frustrated, we requested the check to leave, the manager refused to credit our dining bill for the confirmed raw uncooked burger entree we were served. Bill arrived with no pen either for us to total or sign. The outdoor seating section was only 20% full, including my Wife and I, so the restaurant wasn't operating beyond capacity. Very poor waiter -to- kitchen communication. Orders should have been cooked correctly as requested and also according to temperatures required by law. Menu (or wait staff) should divulge to guests that the waffles are pre made, not fresh made and are served cold. In my 50+ years of enjoying waffles, I've never been served cold dry waffles. This menu item should not be a "buyer beware" situation. Wife and I left both frustrated and shaking our heads in amazement of how poorly the dining...
