Sushi Freak Las Cruces Telshor — Restaurant in Las Cruces

During the pandemic we have visited two sushi restaurants for carryout and on all three occasions one of two condiments every sushi bar gives you are wasabi and soy sauce was missing from our bag. In this case the latter was missing, VERY BAD FIRST IMPRESSION! However, this gave us the opportunity to taste the sushi for flavor. We tried the Rock Star (seaweed, krab mix (surimi), avocado & cucumber topped w/spicy tuna, shrimp tempura, tobiko, masago, spicy mayo, unagi & mango sauce), Rooster Roll (seaweed, krab mix, avocado & cucumber topped w/spicy tuna, shrimp tempura, tobiko, masago, spicy mayo, unagi & mango sauce), and Sumo (soy, teriyaki chicken, spring mix, avocado, daikon sprouts, wasabi mayo & tempura crunch). Only the first one had any semblance of flavor. The latter two the taste of teriyaki chicken and shrimp tempura, respectively, were nonexistent to faint. The pickled radish was a nice touch, however meager the portion, 4 slivers. The wasabi was quite pungent. Great place to order online from. I dont like the Subway style setup, personally, so the online ordering was better suited to getting what I wanted without feeling rushed. The sushi was delicious and their specialty rolls are great. Their online order timeline was accurate to completion, but I always give people 10 or more minutes extra, just in case.

My one gripe is that I'd say their website could used a bit of work, as the interface was not very responsive and it took a lot of patience to make it function as intended. Switching between the cart and the menu was clunky. Selecting a location to order from caused a splash window to populate on my mobile device that prohibited further use of the interface. I had to refresh and redo the location selection a few times to get it functional. There are better website hosts with more intuitive and functional features than the one currently in use, but I wont dock a star for that, as it's not their fault.

The best way for the owners to understand what I mean is to place an order online from an android device using their own...

I was so excited to eat here but was seriously let down. The restaurant vibe is so cute and well put together that I expected the food to be as well but it wasn’t. The chicken teriyaki was cold pre BAKED chicken drizzled with teriyaki sauce. And I never leave bad reviews but the food was just all around unpleasant. If it were just the food I probably wouldn’t have left this review but the service was awful...like genuinely terrible. The men behind the counter didn’t know whose food was whose or where someone named “stephen’s” order was and it took them twelve minutes to ring me up when my food was sitting at the register for twelve minutes.
