I needed to get cookies for one of the physicians offices that I work for, and so I called Twisted Sugar to see if i could walk in and order and the answer is YES! 😋
They have a menu of delicious looking cookies from Chocolate Chip to a Nutella one, and I ordered six different ones for the physicians office that I was dropping off the treat for, so they could try something new.
They are pricier than getting a cookie tray at Walmart or Albertsons, but TOTALLY worth it because these are certainly Gourmet cookies and I like to be extra in showing my appreciation to our community partners by finding treats that people may not have ever had or may not get to enjoy often for a variet of reasons.
Based on my Snickerdoodle cookie, I'm certain these other ones were off the hook delicious💯
I was even hesitant to get at first because there was icing on it, and im not big on cookie icing tbh. This almost turned me all the way off right up front but I had waited until the last minute to grab the cookies and I'm just to intentional to grab a box of bakery cookies at Albertsons or somewhere like that.
Those box store kind are predictably good to a fault because they have scienced the heck out of them, so much so you already know what to expect.....and to me there is nothing excellent about a good cookie from a cookie cutter box grocer😏
So when I saw the icing on the cookies, I VERY UNECCESARILY imagined they would taste how the store bought ones usually do: dry cookie with a hard icing that was so sweet you could almost feel the grains of sugar grinding down between your teeth as you chew.
Lucky for all of us, this was not AT ALL the way this cookie went down! The icing was creamy and flavorful, on top of a moist, buttery shortbread cookie that melted in my mouth with each bite!
Here's what's crazy though. I'm still a plain jane and i prefer to eat shortbread alone, ESPECIALLY when as perfectly crafted as this one (in my humble opinion🙏🏿). So I took the icing off but please believe, I STILL ATE IT! LOLOL I just scraped it off with my finger and licked it right off unapologetically.
That may not seem like a big deal to you, but im super mindful about calories and eating sugar. So when I do eat sugar, it has got to be worth it, and let me tell you even doing all of that, it was doubly worth it. And I recommend anyone else...grab some cookies from this spot it is on point and a fun treat that will help you stand out for whatever occasion you should want...
Read moreThe cookies we got were all chilled and the cookie bases are bland. I mean like I felt like I was eating cardboard. The texture is great for a chilled cookie, but the cookies themselves being chilled take away from complex flavors and textures. The atmosphere feels off a bit and was pretty dirty when we sat in to try some cookies/drinks. It was so empty in there too, there was one other customer who didn’t seem pleased with their order either. There were straw wrappers everywhere and the bathroom wasn’t clean at all. The pricing was great, but I would rather spend my money on a box of cookies that are warm where I can also buy a carton of milk. The sodas are okay, they’re very sweet and nothing special in my opinion. My stomach was very upset after taking three bites of a cookie. My entire family also had the same experience so I have no idea if these were underbaked or just something didn’t agree with us.
Overall, I won’t be frequenting if I want a sweet treat. Personally, I think the cookies lack flavor and depth and the cookie bases are pretty bad? They’re bland and have no flavor. I hate to say it, but crumbl and insomnia cookies are so much better and actually worth your money. Obviously las cruces doesn’t have a crumbl or an insomnia cookies, but if you’re ever in Albuquerque, I would stop by and...
Read moreMight be a long review: I was in awe of the young employees of this place when I went opening night at about 8pm. They were efficient, pleasant, and helpful. They knew their business, and kept that place flowing on a really busy day.
Because of other negative comments left in the reviews about long lines that day (hello, it was opening day), I felt inclined to review them and compliment their service. It was worth the wait as my Monster Mash cookie was great, so soft and tasty! (It was my 3rd option, 2 others were out of stock, which just means you all were successful and busy on the first day and I am happy for you and I am sure you will adjust inventory to meet demand in the future) You communicated that with me and told me other options you recommended.
The complimentary drink on opening day, a "Jukebox" was so delicious, I will be back for that one, and to try others in the future.
I went to support you guys that day, and what I got was a view of excellent service under pressure. Keep up...
