I've always wanted to try this restaurant every time I'm in the same plaza this business is located in, but always seem to forget its existence whenever I'm home with my family and trying to figure out what new restaurant to try. On 12 Apr 2025, I was in the mood for seafood boil and in typical fashion, I began searching for nearby places via Google. In the past, whenever I search for nearby seafood boil restaurants, it normally navigates me towards the infamous Spring Mountain Road because there's so many options there; however, this time, Cap't Loui popped up on the search and it quickly reminded me of how I've been wanting to try this place. Therefore, my wife and I hopped in the vehicle and headed to the Summerlin area.
When we arrived, I was concerned that the wait for a table would've been at least 30-45 minutes because it was the weekend and in the middle of the dinner window. Luckily for us, we didn't have to wait long (~8 minutes), before being escorted to our table...which was very fortunate because I was starving. Our server, Ricardo (who also escorted us to our table), did a phenomenal job that evening...he was extremely attentive, friendly, and answered all of my questions with the utmost patience.
We ended up ordering EZ Peel Shrimp (no head), Lobster Tail, Whole Dungeness Crab, Snow Crab, Broccoli, Sausages, Boiled Egg, and Funnel Cake Fries w/Vanilla Ice Cream for dessert. We requested the Cap't Loui Sauce for our seafood boil and let me tell you...boy, that sauce was amazing! I left there still having that taste in my mouth and remembering how it tasted hours after my meal. Let's just say that it left me wanting more even days after that visit. All the seafood was cooked to perfection but my only small complaint would be the quantity of the broccoli, potatoes, and corn. I've been to other seafood boils where the standard amount of corn is two, and at least 2-3 potatoes depending on the size. The broccoli was so exceptional that I wanted to keep dipping it in the sauce and eating it all night long but was limited in doing so based on the quantity provided. Oh well, in the future, I'll order more in the beginning.
With respect to the seafood boil as a whole, I felt the prices were very reasonable. Although I mentioned the limited quantity of the broccoli, corn, and potatoes above, I still felt that the amount they served was adequate for the average person; however, I don't consider myself average either...especially when I'm starving and at a seafood restaurant. I highly respect this business for their continued support to the men and women of the Armed Forces, including its Veterans - thank you for that! Overall, I highly recommend this restaurant to everyone! I'm thankful that I have a restaurant of this caliber within close proximity to my house versus the other seafood boil restaurants in Las Vegas. Oh and I enjoy their mouthwash dispenser in the bathroom - a very nice touch for folks out on a date that aren't keen on maintaining that garlic taste in...
Read moreWith so many options for seafood boil in Las Vegas, it’s really hard to stand out! But man, what sets Cap’t Loui apart IMO is their chicken wings and dessert! Don’t get me wrong their seafood boil is fantastic! Their Cap’t Loui seasoning is soooo good and flavorful with the perfect hint of sweetness! I got mine medium which also had the right amount of kick, and the seafood is also really fresh!
But lemme tell you bout these chicken wings! It reminds me of Korean fried chicken, extra crispy on the outside! My first bite into that crunchy goodness was a mouthgasm for sure! I’m still salivating over those wings as I write this review. It also came with a side of lemon pepper fries which were also really delicious! For their desserts, they offer funnel cake fries and beignets, and they were both money! The beignets were the best I’ve ever had! It’s sprinkled with powdered sugar, and it’s lightly crispy on the outside and super doughy on the inside! It had the perfect texture! And wow their funnel cake fries topped with a scoop of vanilla ice cream and chocolate syrup was unbelievable! I loved the presentation and how it wasn’t too sweet! I would come to this restaurant just for these 2 desserts!
Service was great! All the servers were really nice and accommodating! The space is very open, and I had no idea that this place existed for over a year now, having taken over the previous Jolibee. They even have a private space in the back for special events such as birthdays, etc.
This is a hidden gem that I feel like a lot of people don’t know about yet, but by next year it will be a seafood boil staple here in Vegas!...
Read moreThis place has good service, food, and atmosphere. I have been here 2 times now, and it stays busy. The first time we went for dinner, this time a quick lunch before going to the movies. We each had one of the seafood broiler lunch specials. Choice of 2 seafoods, 1 side, and a drink for 12.95. That's a reasonable price for fresh seafood! Shrimp, clams, and garlic noodles are what we chose. The portions were decent, roughly about 10 shrimp and 10 clams.we paid a dollar more for the head off shrimp this time. The shrimp were good size and tasty, The clams were also good but a little on the small side. The garlic noodles are good by themselves, but I always like to add the seasoning from the seafood broil. Something about that butter and seasoning mixed with the garlic in the noodles that brings it all together ❤️. We added an order of French fries and a half dozen of the fresh shucked oysters. On Tuesday, it's dollar oyster day. I know it can be scary ordering oysters here in Vegas, but these were tasty, fresh, and clean, with no sand or grit to them. All this for less than 50 bucks. Another enjoyable experience. Will definitely be back soon. Hope you enjoy the experience as...
