Living in Las Vegas (LV), you get the opportunity to try so many different restaurants on and off the strip, that you tend to forget about the large restaurant chains in an effort to support small businesses and to try something new every time. Oftentimes, my family and I are met with the struggles of trying to pick out (and agree) on a new restaurant to try, resulting in the day getting away from us and having a late brunch session. This can be frustrating at times when you're on a schedule and don't want to end up eating dinner at 10 pm. However, on 27 Dec 2024, we collaborated and agreed to try this IHOP because: (1) it gives us a sense of nostalgia from years before when we used to live in the Midwest (where they didn't have as much options to choose from); (2) we've never been to this IHOP location since moving to LV; and (3) why not...IHOP serves some good food, majority of the time.
When we walked in, I was thoroughly amazed at how nice and modern the business looked - it was definitely something I'm not used to seeing when walking into a traditional IHOP restaurant. Next, the hostess on shift was really nice; she greeted us nicely and escorted us to our table, which was a significant size (I enjoy larger tables for more elbow room). The table and booth seating were clean and organized which is always a plus because I've been to some IHOP locations where you sit down and are met with stickiness from the syrup all over the table, chair, and condiments. Our primary server, Tania, was remarkable throughout our dining experience. She was extremely friendly, attentive, and operated at an efficient rate. The only concern I had during the visit was that we were told by our server the wait time was going to be a little longer than normal because they were understaffed in the kitchen. My recommendation is to communicate that to the customers from the hostess as they walk in, instead of waiting until customers sit down. Regardless, I appreciated the communication and we probably would've still elected to dine here (if it was communicated to us upon walking in), since our hearts were set on IHOP. Plus, it gave us the opportunity to have more human interaction and the food came out faster than expected.
We ordered two coffees, orange juice, chicken and strawberry/banana pancakes; chicken fajita omelette w/pumpkin pancakes; and veggie egg white omelette w/original buttermilk pancakes and a side of bacon, ham, and hashbrowns. Everything tasted just as marvelous as we remembered and definitely satisfied our hunger and that "dose of nostalgia." We were a little bummed that after we were done with our coffee, we happened to look one table over and noticed that the restaurant had French Vanilla creamer as well. Had we had known that, we would've requested it in addition to the half-n-half we were only provided.
Overall, the experience was wonderful and it helped tremendously with the outstanding service provided from Tania. I noticed that the prices had increased from the previous time I tried IHOP but that's assumed with the rise in costs across the Nation. However, the prices are still reasonable and definitely affordable. I especially respect this restaurant (and all the other IHOPs in this country) for their continued support to the active men and women of the Armed Forces, including its Veterans - thank you for that! I highly recommend this restaurant (specifically this location)...
Read moreOn the morning of December 10, 2023, I visited the IHOP Restaurant in the Summerlin Area near the 24-hour Fitness with a group of friends for breakfast. Upon arrival, we were disappointed that no staff members were present to welcome and seat us. After waiting an extended period, we approached the staff to request a table, which was an unfortunate start to what we had hoped would be a pleasant dining experience.
The person responsible for seating us, Sheree, performed her duties proficiently; however, I observed that the employees needed to be more relaxed, and their customer greeting skills left much to be desired. This created an unwelcoming atmosphere throughout the restaurant, and the service staff, including the management, needed to be more approachable. This, in turn, hurt our overall dining experience.
During my recent visit to the IHOP Summerlin Area, I noted that the restaurant's staff could benefit from better prioritization of their customer service duties. An aspect of our visit that could have been much better was the need to request napkins and creamers from our servers repeatedly. As a customer, I expected these items to be readily available without my prompting. Although seemingly small, this detail can significantly influence the overall dining experience and may impact whether customers choose to return in the future.
As we were departing the establishment, I observed an issue related to hygiene. The sauces and condiments were improperly stored alongside cleaning tools and chemicals, which violated food safety and health department regulations. Such practices pose a severe risk to the health and safety of customers and can lead to food contamination. The restaurant management must immediately address this issue and ensure such violations are not repeated.
When my friend and I left, an employee stood by the hostess counter. Despite making eye contact with us, the employee failed to offer the customary parting remarks of "Thank you, come again" and "Have a nice day!" This lack of basic customer service skills indicates a more significant management and staff training issue. Engaging and friendly staff are essential to the success of a business and can make customers feel welcomed and valued. While the food was satisfactory, the service and hygiene issues left much to be desired, affecting the overall...
Read moreIf you find yourself in Las Vegas craving some hearty, comforting breakfast at any time of the day, the IHOP on Trailwood Drive is a spot you won't want to miss. Since my wife and I started visiting in 2013, we have been consistently impressed by the exceptional service and welcoming atmosphere. The servers here, especially Jaime, Gia, and Omar, are a standout trio. They're not only friendly and attentive, often bringing drink refills before you even think to ask, but also remarkably observant, remembering our usual orders which adds a personal touch that makes dining here feel like visiting old friends.
The restaurant itself is spacious and well-maintained, offering a quiet environment unlike its busier counterparts. It’s the perfect place to unwind, where you can sit with a laptop and linger over a meal without feeling rushed. They even offer drinks to go—a small but thoughtful gesture that exemplifies their customer service.
After a hiatus due to the pandemic, returning to this IHOP felt like coming home. It’s a testament to the staff and management here that they've maintained such high standards through it all. For anyone looking for a reliably pleasant dining experience, this IHOP remains a top choice. Whether you’re a local or just passing through, it’s worth stopping by to enjoy some of the best pancakes in town served...
