In the past year, I have spent over $400 at Foxtail Coffee - Trails Village Center, and have interacted with all of the baristas here many times. I do not lodge complaints easily, but there is one barista whose name another barista named Grace refused to give me who worked on the morning of 9/12 whom I have interacted with many times. Letâs just call her Employee X, then. So Employee X is very standoffish to me whenever I interact with her, wearing a frown, and saying either nothing or next to nothing. This morning, she didn't say a single word to me. Literally. Not a word, not a smile -- zero communication, but a frown on her face. Because I do come here often, Employee X put my usual order in. She has behaved this way before, and it's felt rude every single time, but this was the straw that broke the camel's back.
Furthermore, this behavior by Employee X is selective. Not only has she smiled and communicated with other patrons; I have seen her give free coffee to a landscaper working outside. She is capable of greeting me, smiling, saying, "Welcome in," and asking me what kind what I would like to order--normal customer service stuff--but she oddly chooses not to do so.
Meanwhile, when asking another employee Grace for information on Employee X's name or how to contact the manager, she refused to give me that information. She acted like she was searching for the manager's business card, but said that she couldn't find it. She told me that she was the shift lead, but did not have the phone number to the manager, so I would just have to wait until he came into the store some mysterious time later in the day. (Is it normal for a shift lead to have no way of contacting the manager?) She was obviously obfuscating and trying to protect her coworker from this complaint. At one point, she even said to me, "But I didn't talk to you, either," thereby inadvertently admitting that, whereas they would normally be friendly and say, "Welcome in" to other customers, neither she nor Employee X did so for me. Are these people trained to interact with some customers, but not others? Perhaps Grace's behavior needs to be addressed as well.
To be fair, I have not had similar problems with other baristas. Indeed, I have usually had pleasant experiences. Otherwise, I wouldn't have come here so often. I'm not asking to be treated like a regular (even though I am), and I'm not asking to be treated like a VIP. The bottom line is that repeatedly getting the silent treatment from Employee X (whereas she gives free coffee to other people who are not even paying customers) is not normal, and it is not respectful. The inability to deal with this matter privately thanks to Grace's clear attempts at obfuscation has prompted me to go online to share my experience...

For 25 years, that corner cafĂŠ in SummerlinâStarbucks at Village Center Circleâwas more than a coffee shop. It was a morning ritual, a casual meeting place, a second home for remote workers and retirees alike. Then one day, it closed. Just like that.
But where the scent of Pike Place once lingered, something new began brewing.
Enter Foxtail Coffee Co., a bold, modern twist on your classic coffee experience, quietly stepping into the space with a promise: to bring warmth, quality, and community back to the neighborhood, one handcrafted latte at a time.
𪾠The Vibe: Rustic Meets Refined
Walking in, the first thing youâll notice is the contrast. This isnât your cookie-cutter coffee chain. Foxtail has soul.
Reclaimed wood accents. Warm lighting. Plush chairs paired with polished tabletops. Itâs the kind of place where creatives sip cold brew while tapping away at laptops, and old friends linger over oat milk lattes, catching up on years of missed moments.
The space isnât just designed for coffee â itâs designed for conversation.
â The Coffee: Small Batch, Big Personality
I ordered a classic latte with oat milk and a touch of cinnamon. Smooth. Balanced. Not overly sweet â just enough to warm you up without overpowering the espresso.
They say Foxtail roasts in-house in Florida, and it shows. Thereâs a depth to the flavor, a roasted richness that feels thoughtfully crafted rather than mass-produced.
And yes â you can even get beer and wine here in the evenings. Think âcoffeehouse by day, wine bar by night.â Summerlin just got a little more interesting.
𧥠More Than Coffee
This isnât just about the drinks, though. Itâs about reviving the ritual.
Parents with strollers stop in after school drop-offs. Runners cool down over iced Americanos. Retired couples share breakfast sandwiches on the patio, waving to familiar faces walking their dogs.
Foxtail doesnât try to be the old Starbucks. It doesnât have to.
đ In Case Youâre Wondering ⢠Address: 1990 Village Center Circle, Suite 1, Las Vegas, NV 89134 ⢠Open: 6 AM â 7 PM daily ⢠Vibe: Cozy. Clean. Familiar, but fresh. ⢠Pro tip: Try the vanilla nitro cold brew on a hot Vegas afternoon. Total game-changer.
âď¸ Final Sip
Foxtail Coffee Co. didnât just fill a vacancy â it honored the past while creating something new. Itâs where stories start again. Where locals rediscover their neighborhood over a better brew.
Because sometimes, all it takes is the right cup of coffee to turn âgoodbyeâ into...
Read moreThis is what a great coffee shop is all about. The cashier was very friendly and helpful. Top end equipment and beans. I didnât take away a star because everything else was done with extreme care, but my barista was pretty bad (at least as compared to everything else in the place, including the work of art Strada). Our barista seemed like she was having a really bad day, big sneer on her face, careless puck prep (zero distribution and a resultant tamp at like a 30 degree angle with a few grams of the dose being squeezed out one end, awful actually). The latte was drinkable, but based on the underlying flavors lurking in the cup, could have been a knockout coffee drink had even beginner puck prep been applied. My sense is this woman wasnât a beginner, just not a happy person who loved making espresso. Incredibly sad given every other aspect of the place. We will be back a few more times and hope we just caught her on a bad day, because whoever put this place together really knows high end...
