Oh how I miss the old and original International House of Pancakes! It truly seems that along with the name change years ago, they let go of food quality and cleanliness. However their prices, have ridiculously increased! I have visited 3 different locations in the past couple of years, hoping that my original bad experience was just specifict to "that" location, but unfortunately that has not been the case. In this particular visit I ordered the steak and eggs, mind you, that is almost an $18 dollar item on their menu. I ordered my steak medium rare. Not only was my steak over cooked to a well done consistency, but it had more fatty parts than meat. It was also overly seasoned and salty. The eggs were over cooked and a bit chewy. My order alone came up to almost $25 dollars (with coffee anf small OJ) which is what you would expect to pay, when you get ripped off at one of the strip properties here in Vegas, but wait, I am not a tourist and this is a local family restaurant! The restaurant was extremely busy (saturday morning around 1130am) as you would expect, and although they seemed to have enough staff, they were having a hard time keeping the floors and some of the tables thoroughly cleaned. Shouldn't you plan accordingly for the additional traffic and large groups on weekends? Why would it be ok to walk into a restaurant, regardless of how busy it is, and expect to see bits of food and trash on the floor, booths or tables? The only positive aspect from this last visit was the server, who was polite, quick and kept checking on us during our meal. I opted not to mention anything about my steak because of how busy he already seemed to be and we couldnt afford to wait for my order to be replaced. Read moreTerrible doesn't begin to describe our experience this morning...we arrived at 9:15ish and didn't receive our food till after 10:30 that time I had to ask someone other than our server for drink refills and to check on our food someone other than our server came and was hey guys I'm so sorry she rang the table under me and didn't tell me at the point that our kids were crying because it was taking so long we asked for a manager to check our food as we were at almost an hour he checked said just a few minutes plating it now which was untrue cause 20 min later we finally got our food we'll some of it anyway the server forgot to ring in one of the kids meals ask for the manager again he takes nothing off the bill just throws 4 coupons at me good for a meal of $9 or less and basically acted like the hour plus ticket time was normal...he was joking right cause I know we won't go back just take the money off my bill instead of me having a $60 check because we paid full price for everything.... the guy who turned out to be our actual server was super apologetic which was the only saving grace won't be back and have...
Read moreI called this morning at 846am and placed an order for a garden omlette, I asked her if she had cranberry juice, she placed me on hold to check for the juice. She came back and said no cranberry so I asked her for orange juice. She took my phone number and my name and said that it will be ready in a half hour. I got there at 920 only to be told that there was no order in the system and they don't know who took the order. They let me walk out without trying to resolve. I walked back in to see if they would try to resolve. I asked who answers the phone, she said her or someone else. I told her I spoke to someone whose name I think started with a F...said no one here with that..after I said it was bad customer service. .she then asked me if I wanted her to place the order again Now I understand why you have a 3.4 rating.
